Iranian Hospital - has anyone delivered here recently?

Afternoon Ladies,

After having planned to have my baby at Latifa hospital, I have now been given an option to deliver here as my private doctor seems to have a contact there. I cannot find much information on the internet and realise I would need to go there to look around. I was just wondered if there is anyone who has any personal experience of the maternity service there.

Yea they told me 13000 normal delivery ( this is include all medication ect) and sth like 19500 for CC....

I have call them, the prices are same like AH, or Medcare. wow, that's so strange - it wasn't the case when I was looking for hospital 2.5 years ago.

Hi evelyn2000, you might check International Modern Hospital as well. It's located in Bur Dubai, not far of from Iranian. It's a bit better and not more expensive than Iranian. I don't have a first hand experience delivering there but only heard from my friend. I visited her when she stayed there and they have private rooms with a separate welcome room.

I went there to have a look. The hospital is nothing special compare to private ones, but also prices are affordable. For sb without insurance, its more secure, at least we are sure our savings will be enough in case sth go wrong ( hopefully not, but better be prepared). Normal delivery is 6000, if go so Cesarean is 9000- 9500. Only thing that usually after delivery you are asked to stay 2 days in the hospital, there they will release you after one day. Off course there is an option to stay more if need. Also i believe i have to have all items with me, i don't think they will provide much. Also I'm worry little bit about communication, as they said DH is not allowed fro delivery room...

I delivered both of my kids there (DD 1.5 years ago) if it helps :) the hospital & maternity ward is nothing special, like all government hospitals here. I delivered DD at 2am and was discharged by my doctor that afternoon :) My doc was from private clinic too, but delivering in Iranian hospital (she was the same one for my 1st child). The rooms are pretty basic (room, 2 beds, small TV, toilet) and may be you could check if you can reserve a private room (normal room, but they won't put another lady in it). They have labor room where you will be placed before you are ready. They might have 3-4 patients there same time as you :( Once you are ready, they will transfer you into operations room and I think only at that time they will let DH to be present if you will need/want to (I didn't want DH there both times). After delivery, you will be transferred either to your room (if ready) or post delivery recovery room till your room is available. Food there is basic, but good. Have your hospital bag with all necessities ready. Most of the staff don't speaks good English, so you would probably need to repeat yourself or ask them twice. Luckily for me, everything was solved by DH & in-laws as they are originally from Iran, so they knew the ways around Iranian culture :) It will be better if you could go and see the place. Let me know in case you need more info.
