Thanks all.. I am actually interested in some first photos of Baby like cord cutting by dad, dad n mom holding the baby for the first time, grandparents' excitement etc...I think those are the precious moments in a parent's life and I don't want my DH holding a camera to click those without enjoying those moments....

lol I would have done the same :))) As far as I know you can have 2 people there so I can't see why one of them cannot be a photographer. Is this your first baby? I know everybody is different, but I think during labour the last thing I would have wanted to do is to say "cheese" for the camera... I think I would have strangled someone with the little strap to hold the camera and then beaten them with the tri-pod if someone had tried to snap pictures while I was in labour.... But your best bet would be to ask at the hospital where you want to deliver if it is ok to take pictures. In some hospitals though only husbands and close relatives (like your mother or sister) are alowed into the delivery room.

Thanks Shjbelle I was actually meaning to hire a professional photographer.... Personally I could think of nothing I would rather do! oh. it wasn't from a hired photographer. Just using a home camera. lol

I think I would have strangled someone with the little strap to hold the camera and then beaten them with the tri-pod if someone had tried to snap pictures while I was in labour.... But your best bet would be to ask at the hospital where you want to deliver if it is ok to take pictures. Do you mean you want to hire a professional photographer to capture the moment or it's just a home camera taken by DH or doula? I have shots taken when DD took her first breathe and yes I did my doctor way in advance. Not sure about the prof photographer altho I do know that in other countries it's an in thing now. :D S
