Hi dear ladies , I'm newly pregnant and very confused which hospital should I select it will be really nice if you can advise as per your experience , I planning to have "epidural" as well and not sure who of the below got good record with the same :

1- Saudi Germany Hospital it's the closest to my house unfortunately I didn't find anyone who recommended it ! so I was thinking maybe it was new and now they are getting better.

2-Medcare Jumeirah - heard it's good but do you recommend a Doctor there

3-City Hospital : I know it's good but it bit Far so still if it's the best will just go for it

Thank you in Advance :)

Hi, am from Springs... and have chosen Medcare as my ob gyn is Dr. Luthra..very thorough doc, takes time to answer queries....**** about follow ups, her nurse team always calls back. Was hospitalised for insulin and then monitoring....the support I got frm her and her team is unbelievable! she might not come across as warm and fuzzy but I respect her for being strict ....

Oh I see your point now, actually my dr has his appointments in Healthbay Polyclinic and he only delivers in CH. But it didn't really matter to me cause I loved leaving work early and not going back for the day. hihii (very naughty :) ) quote=Dubai_City_Chick'>I used to live in JVT when i delivered my DD in City Hospital. I loved the hospital and he whole experience, the midwives were amazing and the nurses were really nice and helpful.; For me, the distance was not a problem, [b'>I knew I would not deliver in the car, it would take more time[/b'>. :-) lol I dont think thats the reason people prefer a closer hospital. I think its just easier when the hospital is closer. I had appointments every 3 weeks and then every week. I would hate to be travelling really far for each appointment considering they last like 10 minutes. I'm glad to hear the maternity dept is better than the pediatrics though!

Saudi German was also near me so we considered it but it was awful. Unless it were an emergency and I couldn't travel far I would definitely not deliver there. Medcare is where I delivered. Dr Shiva is not very informative and most of her answers are yes or no or if you like BUT she is a fantastic surgeon and she is polite. I healed from my c-section scar so quickly and its such a neat low scar. When my anesthesia wore off mid c-section she took control of the situation instantly and noticed even before the anesthetist. The nurses were of a very low standard IMO but then I cant imagine anywhere in Dubai the nurses being upto the standard of the midwives back in UK. I had an appointment with the anesthetist a few days before my c-section who explained everything to me as there were a few choices when it comes to the epi so I felt well informed. City DS stayed in after he was born because he was really un well in the start of his life. I dont know about the maternity suite but I can comment on pediatrics. Very small rooms, nurse were slightly better than Medcare but not hugely and the place is very far from us. Now that we have insurance that covers all the Dubai hospitals I have a feeling I will end up in Medcare again. Its close-by, the c-section went very well and with the second I'll be clear in my birth plan that I want limited interference of the nurses. Usually with your second/third etc they just leave you to it. did you take the epidural on the c-section or they use different methods couse I'm planning to have it but bit afraid of the later effects as back-pain

1. SG.... I've been to emergency only, and they've always been lovely. The OBGYN and the paediatrician that I met were very sweet, but I don't know anyone that's delivered there. Maybe go and see them and see what you think. 2 MJ.... A lot of friends delivered there and liked Dr Luthra. I didn't jell with her and my DH who's really chilled got annoyed at the nurse for various reasons, so we never went back. 3 CH... I really liked my birth experience there. Although they've been having problems with the insurance companies so check on that before you decide. Hi thank you so far it's either MJ or CH ya I get a note regarding the insurance and CH but I think it should be solved soon Hopefully !
