Hi Ladies
Just wondering if anyone had done the Doppler Scan. I saw my doctor today and she advised that it can be done at 32 weeks (I'm currently 30 wks) but it's up to me, not a must. Everything is going smoothly for me so far and no issues so I'm just wondering is it really necessary, it doesn't seem to be done in the UK unless there are underlying problems! If I go it will more than likely be to Dr George in Genesis, many thanks!

Thanks Daquiri ? Think I'll drop my Dr an email asking if there's a particular reason he wants one done, if there isn't I'll pass xx

Daiquiri did you decide to get the Doppler Scan? My Dr at City just referred me for one but it's 1550 Dhs, I'm not particularly keen to have an unnecessary & expensive scan done that isn't covered. My pregnancy has been smooth so far & I'm fairly certain I didn't have one with DS1. Also does anyone know a more reasonably priced clinic that does Doppler scans? Is Genesis the same price? TIA Hi Gilly Yes I did end up doing it with Dr. George, contemplated many times cancelling it but then decided to just do it. Was glad I did it in the end as I got some lovely images of baby's face and everything looked good so it was reassuring but really, maybe if I was pregnant again and everything was fine at the 20 week I might not bother, it is expensive and if you're pregnancy is going smooth there probably is no need. Price was AED 1,550 with Dr. George (thankfully my insurance covered it). Good Luck :-)

Hi Gilly3 I didn't get the 32 week scan with any of my pregnancies, unless there is a specific problem that was flagged up at the 20 wk scan I wouldn't bother. My OB said totally not needed too.

Thanks CG9 - Yes, I had no problems at the 20wk scan so I think maybe I'm find to skip this one. Everything has been fine and no problems at all to date. Did you get any nice 3D or 4D images though at the Doppler scan of your little one? Nice to always get some nice pics!

Hi Daquiri, I did the Doppler scan at 31wks + some days. The main reason I went for this scan is coz my Bubs was diagnosed with renal pelvis dilatation at the 20wk scan. The Doppler one was just a follow up scan to see if the dilatation had increased or not. If you've had no major findings at your 20wk scan I don't think it's necessary. I had mine at fetal medicine center Xx
