Hi Ladies,
Can anyone recommend a good place to sell gold? I don't feel like being ripped off at the moment so somewhere tried and tested is what I am looking for.

Many thanks

Elisabeth

I used to buy from Pamp Suisse as they are certified 999% purity and used to sell them back to them too. Not sure if they still buy now but If they are stamped bars you should not have difficulty shopping around for a good price, its the ones that have no stamp that are hard to sell. To give you an idea of prices now here's their website https://shop.gold.ae/Products/94-suisse-gold-bars-pamp.aspx hth

I wouldnt sell now if I were you. Prices for gold is very low at the moment. Hang on to it for a while longer if I were you but if you really need the cash then gold souq is best and easy to do. Do your price research before you go otherwise if you look clueless you might not get a good deal. That's true, but they are unlikely to go up any time soon.

As Redrec said. I would avoid Dubai Mall souk but can't recommend a specific place unless it was a large amount (5kg +). Also, if you have in mind what discount you expect off spot, like 3% going into it and are armed with the LBMA price of the day that helps. You can say you want 1% off spot and then argue for 2% and settle at 3%. 2-3 rounds of bargaining for "best price" usually suffices. Would actually love to know, myself, what the souk is offering these days.

The best place would be Gold souk near the Shindaga Tunnel. Browse a few shops and haggle. There is also a shop inside the Souk in Dubai Mall but he tried to undercut me by a huge margin. Carry some form of ID as its required by law for the shop to obtain a copy.
