I was just wondering, is it normal to have to wear surgical compression socks (they are like very very tight stockings) after a c-section while in hospital? Also is it normal to pass out for a couple hours with an epidural? Or are you supposed to be awake for the entire procedure?

Just had a c section 4 weeks ago and had to wear the compression socks though they made me incredibly hot at night. I had a spinal block on top of an epidural that didn't take completely. There was period of time that I passed out/slept but it took a bit longer to put me back together and I did vomit at one point...maybe a little bit of shock for me!

Its normal nowadays to wear the socks. You are normally awake with a C section epidurals are local anesthetics
