There are no disaster seats, buy what you feel comfortable to spend, as anywhere the more expensive seats are just little bit nicer.
We went for seats costing 550 dhs the first time and booked the same one again for Cats.
We bought fairly expensive seats in a box when we first went, but immediately after the show we went and had an explore of all the levels and decided there really isn't a bad seat in the house. It's beautiful designed - the acoustics are wonderful wherever you sit, and unlike much older buildings, I can't see any seats with a restricted view. Since our first visit, we've bought the cheapest seats going and have not been disappointed. We love the fact that everyone really makes an effort and dresses up, and they also seem to have sorted out the mess that was the bar/drinks ordering area. However, as previously stated, so order drinks for the interval as there just isn't time to order, pay and then collect (especially if you also need to visit the Ladies!)
If you want to drive there yourself, the parking is also super easy and free - the carpark entrance is immediately after the entrance for valet parking, and you go underground (follow signs for taxis), and park on your left next to lifts/staircase 17 if I remember correctly (the security guard is very helpful). You then pop up a few feet from the wonderful pavement fountains, missing out on the queues of both people and cars.
In my humble opinion there are no bad seats at Dubai Opera. Obviously this is a new build so there are no concerns about pillars and obscured views compared to the West End in London as an example.. If you're a die hard fan then I'm sure you would prefer the front few rows, but this depends obviously on how much you're willing to pay. The acoustics are amazing, yes further back you don't see the expression on the artist's face. I've sat in Box 1 which is one of the most expensive and also sat right at the back and it didn't affect my enjoyment of the performance. Enjoy bye:
First 6 rows are super expensive, we sat in the 7th row and it was still AED1,100 for a ticket and amazing views. Special occasion. ;)
Choose seats that are towards the middle, pricing depends on your view and row of seating...Anything upto rows 12 is fine, side or middle. After that you are further at the back or balcony (some of these near the stage have limited views due to stage props or lights) or terrace but I found it too far though some prefer the first two rows on the terrace.
It is a wonderful experience, if you like a bubbly before the show arrive earlier and you can get a prosecco etc on the 2nd floor, you can even preorder drinks for intervals and go pick them up, drink them and go back to your seats.
The architecture and interior are beautiful. Worth a visit.
Has anyone been already?
I want to take my mom for her birthday but their seating map is confusing ...I do not know which seats to choose and which area. Apart from "diamond" section, can anyone recommend anything?
In premium there are also tickets for 900dhs and 675... what is the difference?
