Dear Ladies....

Im facing a huge conundrum and have full faith in EW ladies to help me out like always...

DH is planning to move us (me, himself and 3 boys aged 9, 3 and 1.5) to Malaysia..his business will be in our home country Pakistan so he will be in and out of ML

Will be grateful if anyone can give me an insider's opinion about living in Malaysia(Kl or even Penang maybe Johor)

Cost of living (groceries, medical, entertainment, car, petrol, utilities)
Education(looking for something mid priced)
Safety(im sure nothing compares to Dxb but is it still manageable?)
Accommodations
Life with kids(is there much to do?)
Entertainment and dine out?
Halal food?

Ive been living in Dubai for the past 11 years.. and absolutely love it here. I am loathe to go and am hoping some positive experiences might cheer me up! although please feel free to share the downsides...important to know those as well to make a decision.

looking forwards to any replies...TIA

PS: Singapore sling are you still on here? i certainly hope so . Your detailed posts about life in Penang has been the starting point of my research Would loveeee to hear more from you.

I haven't lived there myself, but have friends that lived there and I have visited. KL us generally pretty safe if you live in a nice building, don't know about the other locations. I get the impression that you can get a good education in Malaysia, but don't know the prices. There are plenty of Halal food as their is a large Muslim population in Malaysia. I found the food very reasanoble priced,if you go to 5 star hotels of course it's nearly as expensive as Dubai, but there are a lot of cheaper but still very good options. The supermarkets are quite a bit cheaper. Overall, Malaysia would be a country I would consider to be an expat in and I'm very fussy, think you will enjoy moving there if you have a good package. Lovely big free park with pools next to the Petronas Twin Towers.
