Band members Jung Hoseok, Min Yoongi, Park Jimin, Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Jeon Jungkook, and Kim Taehyung debuted together as BTS in 2013, under the Big Hit Entertainment label. Their songs have taken on the Billboard charts since, with themes on mental health, self-love, and activism. Their influence has led the band to deliver an empowerment speech at the United Nations in 2018, covering young people's right to education, training, and employment by the year 2030.

Shifting music scene

Previously, the group visited the Middle East in 2016 when they filmed their summer blog "Summer Package" in Dubai. The band's popularity among Middle East fans has led to them earning a star slot in Dubai's new Walk of Fame, together with South Korean group EXO.

The announcement of their concert in the kingdom comes after Nicki Minaj cancelled her performance at a Saudi Arabia music festival due to "careful reflection".
