Just curious how many of you on EW are 50+ :)
We had a discussion about the average age in Dubai and I said that the majority is under 50. My guess is 80-20. My friends do not believe me. So the only way to find out is ask it on EW;)

I'm 59 and my husband is 65. Put your percentage up slightly!

Lovely to see such a proud 50+ crowd, I must say I enjoy my North of 50 as well. Okay back to my original question about the percentage of 50 plus in Dubai. There were 19 (inclusive me) above 50. I took the active members account divided by 19. According to this we have 38.5% older than 50 in Dubai which is 18% more I thought it would be.:) Just nice to know and have an answer now when it comes up again. ;)

I am 51, turning 52 in a few months and I really don't think a lot about my age, I am fit and healthy and about to start a full time job (22 years after my last FT role!), it is rather exciting and I am determined to make the most of this 2nd opportunity in the career world! My Mum is 76 and still works, she is one of the happiest, most contented women I know - a true role model!

Ha ha HoneyB "der - if you are 'north of 50' then I am 'south of 60' but as has been said you're as old as you feel and some days that's pretty old............but there are some days when I still feel 21" Most days I still feel 21 but unfortunately my body occasionally, but not always, disagrees with my mind! Think this may be because we dont have children and therefore don't compare ourselves, age wise, with the children we don't have. This may make you smile ... in C4 at Mirdiff City Centre a couple of weeks ago another lady took my trolley instead of hers. I found it just a few metres away and we got chatting. She just returned from Ireland on an overnight flight and was still tired. She'd seen a doctor while she was back home and he'd told her that she was no longer in the Arrivals Hall but in the Departure Lounge. My comment was that I regarded myself as being in Transit and we both had a good laugh about that and agreed that it was a great place to be.

Also north of 50 - retired (not blessed with children) and having the time of our lives. Next stop Muscat - as and when they get organised and issue our title deeds etc.

Very similar story to Amelia re attitude and I'm guessing age. Married 39 years, DH retired & was called back to work from Uk to Dubai. An unexpected & wonderful change to our lives.

How old do you think I am? Why don't we guess for each other!! Um, somewhere in your 40's? Can you guess my age? Ok, now I realise it's a challenging question.......are you late 30's / early 40's? You're nowhere close :) I assume I guessed wrong too :(

Age is but a number ! It's all about your attitude to life. Sufficient to say that we have been drawing our UK state pension for some time now, been married for 44 years, so that will give you a clue to our age. We came here to retire four years ago but it hasn't quite worked out that way for DH ! He started working again in January this year and loves his job as he is involved with boats ! I am kept busy with DD, SIL and three grandchildren who live here. Never a dull moment and we just love our life in Dubai.

Perhaps if more 50+ knowledge would come to Dubai the country would benefit. But that's a different discussion.
