bananas! Speed Kills! yep if they were thrown in the road that would cause an accident. so beware of driving too close to a banana truck then. lol Do you not appreciate that at higher speeds, you are required to leave more space between you and the car infront, not ride in their bumper? Your reaction times are also much slower. As someone else said, I'd rather reach my destination a little late than DEAD on time. yeh i do but thats the point i am making i do, but alot of others do not!

BB2 you're bananas! Speed Kills! Accidents like that last one and the one a few years back were caused by people not taking into consideration the weather conditions and altering their driving accordingly, this also happens when it rains. thats exactly the point that i am trying to make its not always the speed its the driving conditions But people don't have to get from A to B at warp speed you know.

The speed limit is 120, but the cameras go off at 140. Any idiot can drive fast in a straight line, but sadly put an obstacle or other issue into the mix and the majority of people don't have a clue how to control their vehicle. BB2 you're bananas! Speed Kills! Accidents like that last one and the one a few years back were caused by people not taking into consideration the weather conditions and altering their driving accordingly, this also happens when it rains. so the speed limit is 140 not 120 because you have an extra 20 leeway. and until they stop that all together it will not change. in abu dhabi the new average speed cameras are changing the driving habits a little, although people are still driving a tad over and still wonder why they are getting hit with 600 dhs fines every day!!!

Oh wait, BB2. You have an Abu Dhabi license plate? *That* explains it. AD drivers are the worst of them all. is this a joke ?? No, not a joke. Anytime someone drives on my rear bumper so close I could reach out my back window and clean their car, I have a look and nine out of ten, Abu Dhabi red plates, just like BB2 said. Its the only point we agree on! u know i do not drive a white car, not is it a landcruiser or a bmw or indeed is it red plates.......

Any idiot can drive fast in a straight line,. Are you sure about that? LOL Well OK. I had the scare of my life last night when the truck I was over taking - now where near the outer lanes I might add, had a blow out, geez the traffic scattered around him, was a horrid experience.

Well done, BB2, another example of the old head in the sand and "ït'll never happen to me because I'm such a great driver" attitude. Unbelievable. Regardless of your driving ability - be it good, bad or just plain ugly - you still have to take into account your reaction time, i.e. mental processing time. If you're going full tilt down the highway (yes, it IS very easy to drive at 160kpm in a straight line with no other idiots or hazards on the road) then the distance before you react and begin to swerve or apply the brakes is going to be greatly increased from if you were driving at a reasonable speed. By the same token, you must also take into account the response time of your actual car - i.e. some brake systems are better than others, and even if you have the best brake pads in the world, it's still going to take time to engage them and for them to bring at least 1.5 tonnes of speeding metal to a halt - and the faster you go, the more time/distance it will take. Add into the mix other clueless or distracted drivers with no idea of what's going on around them, or random acts such as an animal dashing onto the road, a blow-out, or anything else unexpected, and you're just asking for trouble. Not to mention the catastrophic effects of impact or suddenly swerving at such high speeds. Simple really, the faster you go, the bigger the mess. r but yes i have eyes in the back of my head and i can predict when an idiot is coming along, i do look in my mirror you know, and no not to put any make up on...... an animal dashing onto the road, in the olden days yes you would have to watch out for the camels to walk out into the road, but here when there are camel fences what animal is going to suddenly jump out in front of you hehehe. i have been in a few near misses in front of me, but i do leave enough stopping distance from the car in front of me, so yes you do not need to remind me of that. i am quite aware of the stopping distance, and you know my car is a fast super car which brillant brakes on it. but this was caused because people were driving too fast for the conditions of the road, ie the fog. would you drive fast when the road was wet after the rain, nope you should slow down.

The one and only time my brother was ever caught speeding, the traffic cop said to him "do you know what speed you were doing sir?" He replied "of course I do...you don't think I would be travelling at that speed and not be aware of what I was doing do you?" yep..he got fined!

And you have people driving who are texting or talking on their phones (probably about 50% of drivers on the road use their phones at some time) rather than giving 100% attention to the road; or small children bouncing around the car; or IDIOTS who don't drive well at all no matter the circumstances - you can generally pick them out because their rearview mirrors are adjusted so that they can see themselves, not other cars. they should be made to watch [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0LCmStIw9E'>this[/url'> then. [nb, it's graphic, so please don't watch with small children present... but do watch it.'> I can't believe the number of people of all nationalities and both genders who attempt to steer their cars round corners whilst holding a phone clamped to their faces. They are so very obviously not in control of their cars, it'd be funny if it weren't so tragic. In my mind there is absolutely no phone call or text message so important as to risk my life to respond instantly.

LOL !!! and of course everyone will say this about their driving.... nope i say it because its true. if you know me on forums you will realise that i tell it as it is, so i do not need to justify it. You can't judge your own driving - you may think you're perfect but there will always be someone who can find fault... no fault in my driving. but for example the speed limits have been changed in abu dhabi, people are actually driving more slowly, but you are still getting the idiots flying past at 200mph and weaving in and out and tailgating, but now they are being caught because the police are being proactive instead of reactive, there is so many unmarked police cars pulling people over, i drive up and down wackey races many times a day, and i spot them a mile off but they are pouncing on people which is a good thing to see.

AD drivers are the worst of them all. is this a joke ?? is it still april fools day. i would say that dubai plated cars are just as bad as abu dhabi plates. obviously you will have both driving around your city, because its not where you live its where your visa is issued so you will have people driving around each city with opposite plated cars. you will find tho that in abu dhabi the white bmw/landcruiser type cars with the old red ad plate number are certainly the ones that you need to watch for on the roads on either abu dhabi or dubai.
