I went once to Ted Morgan to ask if they could do a french braid for me... They could... for 250 dirham since it is a 'special hair up do'. In my home country they do it for 5 euros :). But no experience with their haircuts. Good luck! I am never going to a hairdresser in Dubai anymore. edited by Eva B. on 03/08/2011 As in platt (sp)? It takes me less than 5 mins to do that on my own hair - would be more than happy to do that for AED 250!!! That's what I told them: 'It takes 5 minutes'. But they might not have had a clue or something, since on top of that I had to wait until the senior hair specialist came in. Wasn't going to do it for that price and the whole process of it anyway. I went to the salons in MOE, and they couldn't do it either. If that does not say enough about the hairdressers here.. :) edited by Eva B. on 03/08/2011 If you want i can teach you how to do it; it really is easy to do on your own hair. Thanks, that is very kind of you and I would love to accept the offer. But since on my last visit to the hairdresser (ever) the hairdresser decided to that shoulder length is approximately 5 cm above your shoulders... (AVOID JET SET!!!!) But will ask you in 5 months :). Thanks!

@Jasmine, I've tried the one in Dubai Mall but that was months ago. They do great manicure. About the hair, it depends on the stylist. My stylist's name was Nana.

Separately, has anyone used any of the WOW Ladies Beauty Salons at Dubai Mall or Tamani Hotel?

Ted Morgan on the Palm is very good. I used to see Elaine Quinn but all the staff there are helpful, listen and are able to make suggestions. Are they expensive? You can go in for a consultation and they will give you a price or call and ask for the price for a particular service. There are places that are cheaper in Dubai but, and for me it was a big but, they are often not qualified or not qualified to the standard of the girls at Ted Morgan. Lets face it a rotten haircut lasts a heck of a lot longer than that day and I am willing to pay a bit extra to make sure that doesn't happen. Thanks. I suppose it's like everything in life, you get what you pay for. edited by Connect on 03/08/2011

I have tried Ted Morgan but prefer Version Francaise in the Marina. Karine, the owner is excellent and again listens. They are away now until mid August however.

Ted Morgan every time. Professional and friendly. For excellent quality prices are reasonable - plenty of places charge more and are nowhere near as good as the girls at Ted Morgan. You can't go wrong! I agree with most of lollypop said except "prices are reasonable".............they are the most expensive hairdresser I have been to in Dubai, and IMHO, not the best I have been to, for me personally.

where is Salon Ink and who to ask for? It is on Oud Metha Rd, right under the new metro station line. All the girls there are highly recommended.

Yvonne at Hairworks is fantastic. I change hairstyles and colour frequently and she has always made good decisions on what will work!

Wish I could agree about Yvonne at Hairworks. I felt she was ignorant, talked down to me, completely ignored what I asked her to do and just did her own thing. What is it with these stylists - do they think they are right all the time ?? The day I was there their receptionist wasn't coming in until noon. Yvonne answered the telephone about six times while she was blow-drying my hair - don't think you can really blow-dry dry hair !!! I couldn't even be bothered to complain, I was just disgusted with the whole episode. That was my first and only visit to Hairworks. Hate when that happens. the last time i asked the hairdresser to suggest a haircut for me, she snapped at me and went " i dont know , please make up ur mind" i was kinda horrified, what if she chops off all my hairand i end up lookin like a poodle so i just said, cut it short.. so not helpful.

I thought Juan at Juan's Salon (JLT) was good at suggesting and cutting a good style to suit my face and lifestyle. He's got a super Ramadan deal of 500 dhs for a ton of stuff.
