I've used their delivery service a few times now. I just tracked my delivery online and it says "attempted delivery/customer not available" even though I have been home all evening! (No way I would not have heard the doorbell as it is insanely loud)This is the second time this has happened. So annoying!!! Has this happened to anyone else, or am I just unlucky?? Gave them a call, they could not give an explanation of course and item will now be delivered between 9am and 2pm, so that is a wasted morning.... AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHH

Having tried most of the couriers in Dubai I'd say Aramex rate among the worst for delivery timing reliability. They consistently do not show up as stated by their SMS, more than once I have waited in the house for three whole days on empty promises in spite of multiple phone calls to them only to have the delivery guy file that I was out. They frequently do this when they can't be bothered to show up at all.

Ha! Dear ladies, do you really think that the courier delivery works better in Europe??? 4 years ago we were living in Scotland as an expatriated family. How many times my parcels were delivered to the neighbours without even to inform me???? Every time when the status was "delivered", I had to have a long walk around my posh district of Aberdeen looking for my parcel as a stupid girl. I was living in number 10, but had to do all the street from 4 to 18 to find my shipments. The funny thing about Scots and Brits is that they will never come to you to give you your parcel :) Once I sent a BDay present to a little girl in Manchester. 10 days after the birthday I found out that the parcel was delivered to the neighbours and they never informed my friends about it. So, don't complain about local Araxex; it is world wide :) edited by marykar on 11/10/2014

As with a lot of things, it all depends on the individual :) A few weeks back I had a courier at the door with a "document" for my husband. He was at work, I said I'd sign for it, presented a copy of DHs passport to show the names matched, etc, etc. Not good enough. He phoned my husband from my doorstep, who gave him the okay to give it to me. Not good enough. He phoned his supervisor to check. Not good enough. Came back two days later when DH was home to sign for it. The "document" in question? A prize voucher for 25dhs! Last week the doorbell rings, courier there with "document", again for DH. I sign for it, no questions, no ID, and off he goes. This document? DHs new passport. Go figure!

My husband said to leave it but I was angry. The called to arrange a delivery for a certain day and yes a specified time frame. I knew I would be home then only day of the week kids have no after school activities. The day before when Im out my 7 year old daughter calls to tell me that Aramex had been and that as I was not home called my husband to see if it was ok to leave the new cc with my 7 year daughter who signed for it. Ridiculous. When I checked the packet it said delivery was meant to be for the next day as we had arranged. I called to complain and all they could do was apologise and say not sure why it came a day early. I was very peeved! Surely the maid's signature would have done... ridiculous to accept a 7 year old's signature... lol

Twice I have wasted two entire days after receiving an sms alert 8 am, having put aside stuff I wanted to get done urgently and the shipment arrived once at 5 pm and the other time at 3 pm. So frustrating. I now have the Aramex delivery guy's mobile number as its been the same one every time.

They do this all the time. I think the delivery people have targets and if it looks like they cannot meet the target they put the status as 'attempted delivery' to get off the hook. I have challenged them on this and at least once they admitted it was their fault and delivered the item when I wanted it to be delivered rather than giving the ridiculous delivery windows.

Happened to me more than once!! First time they actually went to our old residence, which we left over a year before. The last time, they simply never showed even though it said attempted, so I did exactly what you did and called- immediately, and they gave me the same response. They said between 9-2, and by 4, I called and they said they'd get it by 6. I had it by 7 :(
