Hi

Can anyone help me with which areas i should be looking at. Were hoping to move out to Dubai over the next couple of months.

My hubby works at Bur Dubai so until we get sorted out with a car, he would be travelling to/from work on the Metro.

Ive already look at areas like Old Town and Jumierah.

Would appreciate anyones help/guidance

xx

Are you looking for a furnished or serviced apartment, flat or villa? For an unfurnished flat (but having white goods), I would expect to pay 95K plus or minus 10-20K or so, depending on fanciness and neighborhood. Here is a list of all stations and the neighborhoods/buildings that I can think of which are near them. You can use these for search terms on dubizzle or bhomes.com (I left stations that I couldn't think of neighborhoods for on the list in case someone else wants to add on for you) - Good luck with your search. I live near Deira City Centre station and find the area easy to get around by car, metro and walking. Rashidiya Emirates Airport Terminal 3 Airport Terminal 1 GGICO Deira City Centre - Port Saeed, Emaar Towers Deira, several nice buildings on creek Al Rigga Union Square Khalid Bin Al Waleed - Bur Dubai Al Karama - Karama, Mankhool Al Jafiliya World Trade Centre - World Trade Centre residences, Sama tower (new), Park Place Emirates Towers - Capricorn, UP Tower Financial Centre - SZR highrises (many of these - search wikipedia for E11 for a list of towers) Burj Khalifa - Burj Khalifa, Burj Lofts, Burj Residences, The Address (South Ridge, Old Town and Burj Views also here, but far for a walk to Metro) Business Bay - Executive Towers Al Quoz First Gulf Bank Mall of the Emirates Sharaf DG Dubai Internet City Nakheel Dubai Marina - many many Marina towers Jumeirah Lake Towers - many many JLT towers Nakheel Harbour and Towers Ibn Battuta Energy Jebel Ali Industrial Jebel Ali The Jebel Ali stations are not open as yet and don't know when they are expected to open. The train terminates at Ibn Battuta mall.

Do you have children? If not I am curious why you don't look in Bur Dubai-I just love it there-we have been here 6 years and don't even need a car as my husband works near by. It is quiet-you can walk to Karama, The Creek and the markets as well as Burjuman and the metro is a short walk away. I love being by the Creek-there is always something going on and it is a lovely area for long walks when the nights get warm

Tecom/The Greens as well... I know of a 2 bedroom serviced apartment in Tecom for 65k a year.... 160k will get you some really nice apartments, you could look at 3 bedrooms as well.

Jumeriah Lake Towers has some really nice large two beds all about 2000 sq ft. Actually is 2 bed plus maid. The nicer towers are Al Seef I, II and III and Green Lakes which are all very near to Dubai Marina metro. For upto 160aed you'll get a really really nice 2 bed.

I think for 160k you will find something very nice indeed! Almost all apartments have one parking space with a 2 bed unit, and two spaces with a 3 bedroomed one. If you like to live near hotels/restaurants you could look around DIFC say Capricorn Tower or Park Place, both on SZR but on different sides of the road. Also World Trade Centre Residences are lovely and within your budget! You could even have a 2 bed apt in The Burj Khalifa if you fancied. Downtown Area is not really walking distance to a station though, it would be quite a hike! Do a search with www.dubizzle.com and put in DIFC as the area you are interested in and a range of rents from say 140k - 175k (you can negotiate here), Liberty Tower is mentioned many times but I have no knowledge of that building.

Thats the road my hubby has mentioned Cornish Pixie... all we know is we want 2 bedrooms if possible parking, and my budget (so he tells me) is upto 160000/yr. Not sure how realistic that is though Appreciate your messages, thank you

So does The Marina! Loads of places on the Sheikh Zayed Road too are close by a station. What sort of place are you looking for and what's your budget?
