Godiva Chocolate is the best..They have shops in Dubai Mall, Jumeirah Centre and Wafi. You can also buy online and they do deliver. Here's the website, http://moka-group.com/store. I'm sure your friend will love it:)

Don't know where you can get them in Dubai apart from Duty Free, but Chocolat is a small company run by 2 Swiss Chocolatiers in RAK and their chocolates are simply divine.

It's quite a small shop, so easy to miss- does that get me off the hook? :-)

Yes, there is a leonidas in Ibn Battuta opposite Geant. DH got me some last year on a trip to Belgium so I was delighted to find the shop here. You know, I wish you and Claire hadn't told me that.. I'm outsize enough as it is!

I love Godiva fresh in Brussels, not sure how well they transport this far? Is there a Leonidas here, they're v good Belgian chocs, too? Less cream than Godiva, I think, so travel better, maybe? I prefer both these brands to Jeff de Bruges, but that's just me. I'm pretty sure there's a Leonidas in Ibn Battuta mall opposite Geant, next to the smoking shop - I'm sure I've bought easter bunnies from there before for the kids and yes....the chocolates are divine.

How funny - I think patchi are awful and godiva taste like the smell of plastic ! I just received some chocs from Fauchon and they were really nice. packaging really pretty but no idea where they are from except they must be from dubai. There were dark, light and vanilla ones and beautiful quality.

Jeff de Bruge in MOE. Divine ! ...edited to add : You can ask i Jeff de Bruge to try the chocolates...just in case you're not sure of the quality (and, oh well, with no reason also...) edited by Tiki on 02/01/2011

If it's a friend of a friend, why don't you ask the friend what she'd like? She must know the sort of thing she's into. Hmmm choccies are a bit of a hit and miss present though. How about some nice flowers?

Can definately recommend Patchi chocolates, they are superb and will be beautifully packaged also. Not sure about MOE, but they are in most malls. Got mine in Dubai Mall.

Hi all, can anyone recommend where I can buy a good quality box of chocolate for a friend of a friend. We are all going out for dinner for her bday and just wanted to buy her something...i dont know her taste personally so dont want to buy her something she may not like..so thought that I cant go wrong with chocolates. Any idea on where i can buy from - prefer to go to a mall - mall of emirates ideally..? do they wrap the chocolates complimentary? and any idea on what size is good for a gift and how much I am looking at to pay?
