Hello ladies,
We are looking for a summer camp where our son could spend the month of july. He needs to improve his english and loves sports. He likes water sports a lot.

Any recomnadation would be very helpful. One important point is to find a place not full of french (so he can practice his english).

DH went to Camp Winaukee on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. It's a glorious location on a gorgeous lake in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It's about several hours from Boston or New York, but the camp will arrange to pick up students at airports. The camp is an all boys' camp but has a long history and is very popular. http://www.winaukee.com/about.htm

Doh, believe it or not, Village Camps! We haven't had to send dorter to French language camps, nor do I know anyone who has, as we tended to know French/Eng bilingual families. Also consider some of the British schools and camps. http://www.summerschoolscotland.com/ http://www.summer-schools.info/ http://www.learn4good.com/summer_schools_programs.htm What ever you choose make sure it is regulated and approved by the appropriate child protection bodies of that country. School based camps are normaly very good.

Just to live out my childhood wish -- many of my friends attended Catalina Island Camp. I wanted to, but never did. However, I did attend the camp they organize for schools (we stayed, I think 4 days). For summer, they do longer programs. http://www.catalinaislandcamps.com/ Not sure how old he is, but they take kids up to 11th grade (duh just saw it in the title). And for the older kids, they have a counselor-in-training program. Tons of water sports and such. It's kinda cool to be on an island away from "the world." As for water sports just a small list of activities here...... * “Avalanche” 15 foot Inflatable Waterslide * Banana Boating * Beach Volleyball and Tetherball * Canoeing * Fishing * “Iceberg” 14 foot Water Climbing Wall * Kayaking * Knee-Boarding * Paddleboating * Pontoon Boating * Rowboating * Sailing * Swimming (Waterfront & heated, lit pool) * Tubing * Wake-Boarding * Water Mats * Water Trampoline with the Blob Aquabounce * Waterskiing Location wise it's ...... located on Trout Lake, in the Town of Bolton, just five miles from Lake George.
