I have just done a search and nothing comes up.
Please remind me what I need to take with me. Since I have a Feb 2012 sticker on the car. I assume I have till the end of the month to re register. Tried calling the RTA to check- no answer so I thought I'd try good old Expat woman. Since the car is now in my name, I assume I dont need hubbys passport copy and inside leg measurement!?

And your DHs National ID if you have it, wasn't asked when I registered my car (in his name) but was when I registered his car a month later.

Your insurance certificate (needs to be valid for 12 months), your registration card and all fines/tickets need to be paid off. Most of the places have ladies only lines so you are on to a winner there. I would go first thing in the morning as they are usually less crowded. Also, don't wait until the last minute to register. If your car fails the inspection process (if needed) you will need time to correct the faults before the renewal can be done. Hope this helps

LOL@inside leg measurement! If the rules hadn't changed since December, here is what you need: 1) Check your registration card for the expiry date. Ideally should go for renewal plus and minus a couple days of your expiry date. The sticker is mainly for the police...... :-) 2) A copy of your new vehicle insurance policy 3) The triangle reflector safety sign (inconsistent check but good to have) 4) Cash (100 for safety inspection + ~350 for new card), some extra cash in case there is a fine for each day past the expiry date 5) check police website to make sure your car does not have outstanding traffic fines 6) Bring your own copy of passport and visa page (just in case) Good luck!

Registration card and insurance (I take original and copy). also take PP and visa copy. You shouldn't need it but you never know.... check online for fines beforehand so there aren't any unpleasant surprises.
