Can anyone recommend a place for new tires? Preferably one that won't charge an arm and leg! I've seen some old threads on here, but would like some recent intel if possible.
Thank you!

I would like to recommend Michelin tyres. They offer a wide range of tyres at the best of prices in Dubai. I always prefer to buy tyres from them as they are made from premium quality materials.

I can't remember the name of it but there is a tyre place right at the end of Umm Suqeim street (on the left heading towards AR) just before the new flyover. They have a wide range of tyres, offer competitive prices (and then a discount without me even asking!). Service was very quick and efficient. Worth calling in if you live that way.

If you are looking for Michelin, the importer in Dubai is:- Central Trading Company LLC Ground & MFloor, Al Tayer Building, Al Ittihad Road, Deira, Dubai Landmark: Near Gargash Enterprises P.O.Box: 812, Dubai Tel: +971 4 2661600 Ask them for a price. Anything lower than that from anywhere else and you are getting a good deal.

Thanks all. HereComestheSun. Do you remember the brand and price for yours? Or perhaps it was Dunlop brand? I've been looking at Michelin but am open to others. I know this topic is terribly boring but I really appreciate all info. Thanks! i usually buy brigestone or the cheaper yokohoma or whatever it is as its for a car, if you are looking for a 4x4 then the better tyres are worth the money, you need to make sure that you wheels and brakes are in tip top condition. dunlop or michelin or firestone or bridgestone they are all good makes. every car has different size wheels etc so they you will ask 10 people and get 10 different prices. you need to shop around ask at at least a couple places for the same same otherwise you wont get a fair comparison. edited by busybee2 on 06/05/2013

obviously different brands will command different prices, as said, make sure you are getting new tyres, otherwise that will determine the cost, also some places dont include balancing, and so that can be on top, i think its like a few hundred for all 4 tyres extra for the balancing. firestone and bridgestone are more expensive than the korean brands etc.

I got mine done at the Dunlop place next to McDonald's at the back of the Ibn Battuta Gate hotel. Was reasonably priced, quick service and free alignment. I'd definitely go again for the lack of hassle and peace of mind. They also have a range of brands, not only Dunlop edited by HereComesTheSun on 06/05/2013

Happy to help. When you are asking for a price make sure you ask them the date of the tyres, also check which make there are offering you, that way you can compare like for like. Don't forget you may well want to have the tyres aligned as well... probably 2-300 dhs.

Thanks for the information. DH is out of town and I need to get this done for the inspection! I've made a few calls, but still feel like there is a chance they are ripping me off. One place quotes 950/tire, the next 875/tire and then another 700/tire. I then start worrying how can the price vary so much. I'll do a bit of shopping around tomorrow and take all of your great advice below. I need to double check the date on our tires in the morning. Much appreciated!!!!

Hi, Try Formula tyres in sharjah, just after the sahara centre. There are loads of type shops there. Buying tyres from the petrol station is a pretty expensive way to do it. You could also look behind the gold and diamond park on shk zayed. Find out what tyre size you have i.e. 255 55 18 (on the tyre) and then see what brands are available for your car. (google it if necessary). Then go haggle the best price. Don't forget that tyres are still able to pass the inspection here even upto 5 years old. The date the tyre was made is stamped on the tyre itself. It will have something like 2310 which means the twenty thrid week of 2010. Make sure you check the date of the new tyre you are buying and they are no older than 6 months, and maybe upto 3 months old. All the tyres should have the same date on them. If you can't find the date ask them to show you. This way you won't get messed around like I was when I first got here and didn't know. Thankfully a nice English guy who was getting his tyre's done helped me out. Good luck
