Just to add, in case you didn't know, that you can get arrested/fined in certain European airports for carrying a fake designer handbag. Is it worth the risk? I think that is just Paris?

I've bought dozens of bags in Karama and all have been of fantastic quality. You basically get what you pay for. I've been going to the same guy for 6 years and he always gives me a good price and assurance if anything goes wrong with the bag, he will exchange for me. I have two genuine fake Chanel bags, and they have lasted very well. Both are leather and considering how often I use them, hardly a mark on them. Even my friend who wouldn't be seen dead with a fake, was really impressed by the quality. For a decent medium size leather bag, expect to pay from 300-350AED upwards. There is definitely room for bargaining on the price.

Izzy99, I agree with you .... I got my first designer handbag at 41 (after years of yearning) and you know it looks better with age, if I never get another I will be happy (although DH bought me another one as a welcome to Dubai prezzie). The two I have are fab and I wouldn't get a 'replica/fake' they just don't look right. OK some of them are lovely leather handbags but they're not what they say on the tin and in reality who are you trying to kid - you or someone else? A person who knows designer handbags will know - I swear I can spot a real Mulberry at 50 paces - they're my weakness, sad I know. But if you want to carry one ... that's fine, it's just 'not my bag'! <em>edited by cymraes on 22/01/2011</em>

To be honest, i have bought 2 bags from Karama - and they are my first and last ones.... the quality is absolutely shocking on both of them.... and one has last only a few months..... To be honest, it's cheaper in the long run to buy the real deal, as they will last 10+ years.... All of my designer bags look brand new (and they are not)

Loupops, i believe you can get some very good replica bags in karama, take a drive down, park up and see what you can find, depending on size, quality etc the price can vary, if you feel like you have got a bargain, then thats all that matters, as in lots of places try and negotiate, take a chance. good luck.
