I would really like some feedback from existing DESC parents regarding how they feel about the school. Are their children happy? How do they feel about the level of education? Facilities, staff etc.
My child is currently in year 6 at Repton and we are considering making a change.

Sorry Poppygirl, I was under the impression that you were just thinking about it. Anyway, to me it is a no-brainer....DESC definately wins over Rep, and many other schools here. I would put it up just under DC in levels of schools choices. In fact, I would only list JESS, DESC, DC & ASD as choices for secondary here. does JC not make the list? if not why in'your opinion' It is profitmaking compared to the list that is non profit ;) I do think JC is an excellent choice in Dubai too.

what is DESC? never heard their name before? This is a very well known not-for-profit secondary school in Dubai. DESS College otherwise known as DESC or Dubai Engslish Speaking College.

We have a teenager doing GCSEs. any reason you did not mention JC?

EC is also a good secondary school. My son started there at a very low level in year 7. He is now in year 8 and his levels shot up to more than average. I didn't do much at home with him, so it must be the school. I have also heard good things about DESC. In the end I still think that all schools are the same academically. The facilities are the ones that vary from one school to the other.

My daughter is at DESC, in year 11. She loves it, is really happy, and is doing very well academically. The facilities are constantly being improved as the school grows and the food is excellent apparently!

We do have a place and have paid the deposit but are still undecided whether to make the change. Hence, I would like some feedback from existing parents. Popygirl

You had better get a move on. There are a lot of Repton kids from year 6 moving over this September. Most did the entrance exam in Dec/Jan and were offered places then. You might need some wasta to get in.
