What about Qsar al Sarab in the Liwa desert by Abu Dhabi. I know they have specials now, as we are planning ourselves to go for a couple of days there. They have a stay three, pay for 2 deal. It's supposed to be amazing!

Booked at Desert Palm via Expedia, fabulous rate! Thank you for the advice. Cannot wait! If you've got a little one Desert Palm might not be the best choice. Not really set up for kids and if the wind is blowing the wrong way it can be a bit hummy from the rubbish dump up the road.....If you can cancel with no penalty I'd highly recommend Le Meridien Al Aqah in Fujeirah or the Hilton Resort and Spa in RAK - when you phone ask for resident rates not hotelier rates! My kids love Le Meridien - the kids club is lovely - they have super staff in there. They even have rubber ducks inthe bathrooms for the kids! And there's now a little petting zoo.

Thank you ladies but they quoted me 2,400dhs per night, hoteliers rate, not even including breakfast!!! What?????? we were there a couple of weeks ago and paid 480 dhs a night for 4 of us bed and breakfast......!!!!!

Try Miramar Fujeirah or Rotana Fujeirah, both lovely. Others recommend Meridien Al Aqah as well, haven't been there myself though. Cove Rotana RAK is lovely too :)

We were quoted 1200AED for the Hilton Spa RAK (FOR MID-WEK STAY), and got the same room for 600AED on Expedia. Think it is a Delux Queen we have so our toddler could be in one of the huge beds on her own! We go to stay in 2 weeks. Can't wait as so many people on here have recommended it. Have fun where ever you end up!

Lol shep! I spend hours looking at those sites even if I'm not going anywhere! "travel porn" :-) Expedia is also sometimes cheaper....and it's a good idea to phone and ask for UAE resident deals too. Fujairah Rotana is lovely. You could request a ground floor garden room so you can have the patio doors open and sunbathe whilst little one has a nap! Also check Expedia and compare to hotel sites as it is sometimes alot less expensive.

That's a great budget! Try www.booking.com - sort by reader review / see the prices and cross check with tripadvisor! I was at Jebel Dhanna last weekend - really nice to kick back, but only go if the weather is really good as there is absolutely nothing to do. The beach however, is lovely. It was only 499 per night for UAE residents. It's a 3 hour drive away. Food choice limited, room very nice, ."Spa" is really just a treatment room, but the girl really knows what she's doing (book in advance - she's busy). Swimming pool small - but as I say the beach is fab. Closer to home: Kempinski Ajman is nice. Cove Rotana Ras Al Khaima Jebel Ali Beach Resort just down the road is a nice surprise! Enjoy!
