How did you like the fireworks last night? We were on the Palm so were able to see the Burj al Arab ones very well and really liked them; also Khalifa ones were on the background… Atlantis ones were not very impressive - were there any nice ones coming from JBR?

Happy New Year!!!

I thought the fountain/laser/fire show was the best bit - the music was lovely too, quite 'Arabian Nights' :) I was watching on Dubai One but changed to Dubai TV, as the presenters missed the start fo the show because they were too busy pouting and posing and chatting. They also apparently judging by the video continued to natter away so glad I changed over! *annoying* I watched the Global Village ones from our balcony and they were lovely - just normal fireworks, but being the boring type those are the kind I like. Wasn't too impressed with the Burj K ones.

Didn't see any Dubai fireworks although got caught in the traffic chaos on the way to a private party .......2hrs from Trade Centre to the ranches!!! Grrrr. BUT, a lovely finish to the eve getting home at 3.45am, opening a bottle of fizz (how on earth did we manage that??!), switching on the TV / PC and watching London bringing in the new year with a spectacular firework display over The Thames ...... ahhhhhhh. Happy New Year EW'ers!!! Hoping 2011 is a great year for you all. LL x edited by Loopy Lotti on 01/01/2011

Happy New Year everyone!!! We were at a party next door to the Burj Khalifa. I have to admit the fireworks were very poor and disappointing. It took us over 1 hour to get there because of the traffic. Also no taxis to get out of the place, we had to walk for 1 hour to find a taxi and ended up sharing with some else. As usual it shows the lack of organization in Dubai for such a big event. :-( edited by ninkypinky on 01/01/2011

Burj Khalifa fireworks were amazing. We were right under it, I think called Burj Park. The traffic was crazy. We got home at 4am and we live in Jum-3

the fireworks and the party atmosphere at the Khalifa was amazing the traffic chaos is a different story, but definitely worth it! here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwpQsnFXnQI oh my..... the anchor woman and the guy are so lame and annoying as usually... saying silly things like "this also must be the tallest fire works display of the world!" - oh really? thanks for the info!.....and "the infamous opening ceremony fireworks" -?? infamous? ahh we watched live, it was AWESOME!!!!

we went on our roof and could see fireworks all around. The ones at the Burj Al Arab were the most impressive - very colourful and went on for a lot longer than the rest.

Saw the Burj Khalifa ones on Dubai One and thought they were boring compared to the opening and compared to everywhere else around the world, guess we get used to amazing displays here so last nights seemed lame.

We watched the Kalifa from afar and have to say they were pretty poor from a distance. Im sure they were better if you were actually there
