Logos Hope is in Dubai from 22 Jan-5 Feb and I think from here they go to Abu Dhabi. Saturday-Wednesday:1pm-10:30pm Thursday-Friday: 4pm-10:30pm I heard that on the 27th they have a cultural evening with differant culture's drama, dance and music and also meet the international crew of the ship, I think it's the evening from around 7:30 but not sure.

We had a fab time! We went on-board at 2.30pm and left at 5pm, the kids were ecstatic! You need id to get into the premises of Port Rachid (doesn't have to be id card, driving license, passport will do fine too). You park in the main car park, close to the gates if you can, then walk to the gates where there is a desk that will register your details and you can then catch the bus to the ship. Plenty of books at very very good prices, nice cafe where you have the opportunity to chat to some of the volunteers, I was very good and didn't get the homemade brownies though they looked fantastic and one of the crew was playing guitar which was very relaxing. They have an activity table for the kids, plus a few little extras here and there for the kids to interact with. We bought plenty of books from cooking to art to kids stories to colouring and math books ... it was heaven! lol Whilst we were shopping around some of the staff offered to read stories to the children which was really nice too And all for a good cause :D

We have been there yesterday and bought loads of books, very good prices and selection of books. I did not know about having ID or something with me, but luckily had my passport in my handbag and had no problems getting in or on the bus. My mum did not have her's with her but , they let her through with me. Husband showed drivers license. Bought range of Karen Kingsbury book's for 5AED per book ! They work in unit prices, 100units means 10AED.

I've asked someone who can find out about the ID thing, and will post back later unless someone beats me to it. Quizzme, looking forward to hearing about your visit.

As per the link mammamia posted, yes you need a National ID. For those who don't have an ID, I would guess a passport would do...but I am just guessing.

We went to Port Rashid this Friday, only to be told that the ship will be open to the public from Sunday(23). You have to park your car near the security gates at Port Rashid, and from there shuttle buses will take you up to the ship.
