I did say MOST. My kids have been to 3 Dubai schools and all of them were just a poor version of a UK state school. I’m going on my experience of Dubai schools maybe your children had a better experience. edited by tally-ho on 16/05/2011

You still sit the 11+ for selective state and all grammar schools. I would say you are far better off in a state school in the UK rather than a private school in Dubai as most Dubai schools just copy the UK state school system, and considering they miss out so much of the curriculum due to Arabic and Islamic studies it ends up being a watered down version. This is rubbish, sorry but you can't make a generalisation like this.

that is what my dad thought too, but I thought that for selective state schools (grammars and others eg Henrietta Barnett) that they still use it?
