Has anyone tried this?

Is it really natural or does it contain any dyes and hence why it comes in different shades like red, black, brown. As far as i know the natural henna only gives an orangey tinge on white hair..

I have dark dark brown hair almost black...have grey hair showing now and I cant use normal hair dye as I am allergic to certain ingredients (unknown to me and can not be tested on these) apparently the ingredient i may be allergic to is ppd..

I just want to check if the henna in lush is natural..so i can try the black one for my white hair...i dont want my hair looking orange..

I have seen normal black henna in supermarkets...they contain hair dyes...

Please let me know if you have any experience or know anyone who has had experience with this..

You could also use a product called Vegetal which is also a heena dye. I have tired it and its completely natural with no chemicals in it.

Hi lilia, Hope your experience with Lush Henna is good... generally what i have heard and seen with people using henna is that the quality of their hair changes eventually... it makes hair more frizzy in the long run since most of the products have chemicals in them to make it black or brown..natural henna gives only orangish hue to the hair... Hope this products suits you since you cant use hair dyes... Good luck

Thank you so much ladies.. I hope it will be safe enough for me to do a patch test for the henna..im jus scared of the reaction as I know ive had bad reactions in the past with hair dyes... I know its not a hair dye but i hope if the ingredient list mentions indigo..there is no hidden terminiology and its not a form of ppd or harmful chemical that i have reacted to in the actual hair dyes.. If any of you ladies have had bad reactions like me to hairdyes specifically like facial swelling, blisters etc and u have been told that it may be a chemical called ppd (not ammonia or peroxide) pls do write back telling me if u have tried lush.. fingers crossed and here goes...GULP!

I use caca noir (the black one) a lot! It covers everything too! The ladies at Lush did not know anything about it so I had to do a lot of research on the net. I am very sensitive and I did not get a reaction at all! The henna is natural and contains indigo to make it bluey black. If you want it really dark then cover your hair up with cling film as soon as you apply. If you want a dark red tone then leave your hair uncovered. I usually leave mine on for 4 hours plus. Even with the cling film it has a dark red sheen to it but it is not at all ginger. Everyones hair is different though so as with hair dyes I am sure you can do a strand test to check if it will be ok for you. Also you can check the ingredients on the lush website. Just google for the UK lush website.

I used the henna from Lush 5-6 times at the beginning of this year. I have dark brown hair with lots of grey and it was effective in covering those. However I never used their black henna; tried the maroon and brown (can't remember exactly). It made my hair really soft and my scalp was not itchy (like when I use the other henna packets) but I found that the overall color of my hair was changing so I panicked and stopped. Maybe it was just me but I like my natural color and did not like it becoming lighter. Btw if you decide to use the black henna from Lush I think u first have to use the red to cover the grey and then apply the black. This is what the sales lady told me.
