Thanks for taking the trouble to reply gals, like the idea of linen trousers and wrap dresses bowbells. I find it so hard to find nice dresses here though. Just got myself shop n ship so might try the online route, Boden good?
I tend to buy a few key pieces at the beginning of each season then just add pieces throughout the year.
Jaeger London is my wardrobe in the UK for work there but since being here I have cropped my wardrobe to 1/8 of what it was there .. and I'm struggling - I found some great stuff for work in Debenhams (wallis & fenn wright manson)in the Mall of the Emirates - I wear alot of wrap dresses over linen trousers here ..with sleeves as I have a few Arabic clients and I want to dress without causing offence and just for comfort and it makes me look slimmer - I am heavy busted - so the style suits me - for the weekends or evenings I wear floaty dresses -or trousers .. black is my staple colour but my DH tells me its too dark and looks like I'm wearing an Abaya..
The best thing to start with is shoes .. then I work from there ..
Linen trousers are my must have item - but they have to be good quality linen otherwise they look terrible and go really baggy and look cheap..
depends on your budget - I took a look in New Look in the Dubai Marina Mall and they had some really nice tops for the money and I went to Guess?? they had some great stuff - dresses and tops - I love Harvey Nics !!
MMM ... shopping this week me thinks !!
I barely ever go shopping, I do not enjoy it, i get hot trying on clothes, my feet hurt after a while walking through the mall and it is simply boring. what I did is I bought basics of good quality and combine them and I only give away clothes when they are really worn out.
I usually buy something to wear every week or two. I find little and often better than a few major shops a year...you often find nice pieces when you're not looking for anything specific. Most of my best buys have been when I've just been browsing without looking for anything in particular.
I loath shopping too, find myself go into a panick. I tend to meet a friend every week and go for a walk and just browse, I find this ok, and If I see something I like I buy it, I never try anything on either. Im am trying to build my wardrobe up slowly but surely.
I normally get alot of my stuff when im back home, more of a selection than here, and the prices are alot cheaper than here.
Ha! I tend to go shopping when I feel down. It makes me feel better. There's no hard and fast rule. Given the ridiculous prices here, I would probably wait for the sales and shop then
