So, my friend brought her dog round and it peed on my sofa. I didn't realise until the next day.

Anyone got any tips on how to get rid of the smell? I have used a upholstery cleaner, but I can still smell it and it is horrible!

Or has anyone used a professional sofa cleaning company that works properly?

Yuck! just think its probably soaked into the fabric so even if you clean the exterior it will still be there as its soaked through. Dog pee is a really horrible smell to get rid of, trust me. I'm a bit with IMVP on this and I would seriously be thinking of ditching it and not letting your friend dog anywhere near the new one! Sorry :( I love dogs but not pee on the furniture >:(

personally I would dump it just because it was peed on....regardless of smell.

Try calling your friend and asking her....she must know.

I have used Churchill for cleaning up a "problem", they were very efficient and professional http://churchill-gulf.com/upholstery.asp

Try purpose-made animal cleaner from the vets/ Honestly not a lot else works if it's a really bad pee smell. Some people swear by vinegar but it depends on the material/fabric. Or if you can get/read a copy, 'Spotless' by Shannon Lush has solutions to all kinds of stains/smells in the home.
