certainly all three sheikhs left in the white merc, number 1 plate when I saw them a couple of weeks ago. Though it was driven by someone from their security detail.

If a westerner then just call Sir, HRH or Sheik. LOL I was told by a friend who use to work for Sheikh Mo and family, that it should be Your Highness, with no "Royal". I have never seen any of them, only the white merc with the no.1 plate crusing around. Hoping it will happen one day. Sh Mo sold his No1 plate for charity.

I certainly intended no slur, either - I've never met any of them and know little or nothing about them, and was just pointing to what looks to be a well-researched story in a reputable newspaper! Absolutely! It's all out there in the public domain and even on the shelves of the book shops here in DXB ....... I understand the MODS have to errr on the side of caution ... & I've never had a post deleted before. Just a bit baffled TBH ..... Oh well ;-) xxx

No royal slurs on EW, I get that, mods. But the information is in the public domain, and available in publications on sale freely in the UAE. I haven't read the book mentioned, so I can't vouch for its veracity, but [i'>The Guardian[/i'> doesn't print stuff without doing its investigation and researches, and I had it delivered to my door every day I lived in Dubai. Anyone can find the stories in its archives. ETA: Anea, your new post will just vanish again! edited by Custard Apple on 19/01/2011

I thought that as the topics I mentioned were in the book, and the book is on the book shelves here in DXB it'd be ok? edited by anea18 on 19/01/2011

PS Anea - read the book I mentioned below - gives a great low down of who's who and how they came to be there. Apparently Sheihk Mohammed IS very approachable and he used to deal with ANYONE who had a problem and went to him. Dubai has become a little to large for that nowadays but he seems like a thoroughly good chap in my book! Edit for spelling - doh! edited by Loopy Lotti on 19/01/2011

Oh anea - I've so been in the same boat I started this thread. Am hoping if I can get a definitive list then maybe the mods will pin it to the top of the boards to assist newbies!! http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=134363

Who is DH??? Sorry, just joined the forum some days ago... These guys are of the ruler family, but at the end they are normal guys like you and me, no!? And they gave me the feeling that it would be okay to have a chat with them. Imagine, you could be a tourist having no idea who that guy is...what then?

Slightly off topic .... but have any of you read [b'>[i'>Dubai - The story of the worlds fastest growing city by Jim Krane[/i'>[/b'> Absolutely fascinating and loads of candid info re the royals. Just finished it and loved it.

"Darling, you're home" would be nice. ROTFLMAO!!!! DH see's Mo regularly via work ..... not ever to speak to but normally within a few metres of him. We have lots of pics that DH puts on FB with the caption, the boss was in today. I also agree tho ... he is rather cute :-)
