I may have posted on here previously about our landlord putting our current home up for sale - we're renting tenants, so I understand that there's always a risk when living in someone else's investment. Anyway, is it normal here for a landlord to have up to FIVE different estate agents involved? Yep, 5. And we're beginning to lose our patience because we have different agents looking to see the house. And nobody seems to respect the 2 days notice rule.

I went through a similar thing and was informed by the rent committee that i didn't have to let anyone in and that the 2 day rule isn't law. I would tell the agents and LL when you are happy to allow people to come round and fix times so they have to work around you I certainly wouldn't let them have my tel number and would go ballistic if this was given out without my consent.

Thanks ladies for the advice - I'm aware we do have to receive 12 months notice if they wish to evict us, thankfully it looks promising that a buyer is lined up. @cruiseaddict, distressing is the right word - even more so when we've had different signs turn up on our driveway from agents that get in the way, block the drive way etc. Very frustrating. They are insistent you're right, despite us warning them to give us advanced warning. Perhaps I stress too much as we have a dog in the house, and I hate the thought of people just turning up, placing signs, knocking on the door... It stresses her out, and my husband and I are at work. I have my fingers crossed it's going to be finished soon... Or I fear I'm going to end up yelling at the next agent that attempts to visit!!

Yes when our landlord sold our villla we were inundated with phone calls from different agents, all wanting to come at different times if the day and night! So frustrating and I felt like Cinderella trying to keep the place clean all the time! You can choose times and days that suit you but they will still be insistent! Good luck...I know how distressing it can be!

I presume you know that you don't have to leave the property? If not, speak to rental dispute centre. The new owner has to take you on under same contract terms, and can only personally move in after giving you 12 Months notice. Good luck!

An owner can have as many agents as they want. However, YOU need to set the ground rules. Give them days and times they can bring people to view and that's it. They have to understand that you're living there and they can't just rock up whenever they want to.
