Rents have dropped but it may be difficult to get a place with a pool unless a 3 bed for 140 k. You also need to remember prices may rise and cost of maintaining. May be wise not to have too high an expectation and not to compare with home. Houses with shared pools are also available in Dubai.

I didn't keep the map unfortunately. However I have just had a search and realise that the map I printed off is the same one as the one used in Yellow pages. If you do a search saying street map Mirdif, Dubai you will see Lifco listed near the top with the yellow page connection. Not all the streets are listed but the main ones are. It took me a whole day of driving around to add in the missing street numbers but it isn't really necessary - I just wanted to get to know the area. Hope this helps.

HI! I had worries similar to yours when I moved to Dubai. I wanted to live in Mirdif but I was anxious about the flight path noise. I spent several days with a map, and highlighter pen, and sat outside lots of villas and discovered the flightpath was generally a diagonal line somewhere between Sharooq and Uptwon Mirdif, moving accross towards Lifco supermarket. Next I looked at villas on the edges of Mirdif, in the two opposite diagonals which were not on the flighpath. I found a lovley villa on 91d street and can honestly say that the planes are not a nuisance to me. The local shops are fine for everyday needs and I can be in Mushrif park in a few minutes - not quite the Yorkshire Dales I know but it is green and pleasant in its own way. Good luck with the villa hunting. will it be a tad cheeky if i ask for a copy of the map? pppllleeeaasseee? :D

Hey, I've been looking at the villa lately, and was dealing with a nice agent who showed us some really nice properties. The agent we were viewing with showed as the A1 Villa which is a Mazya villa in the project, and they are the smallest of the lot. They are about 4000sqft 4 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom/study downstairs with its own bathroom, and a pool (agent said we could get them for 120-130k). The A2 was a bit bigger in sqft size, but has the same layout and they are from (130k-140k), and then the A3 which is massive but again same layout was 150-160k. All the Mazayas have their own pool (A1,2,3) and they're all detached. Most don't already have landscaping done though so you'd have to pay for that, or negotiate it with the landlord. The A types only have 1 bath the rest of the rooms have showers, although this agent showed us one that had been updated with baths in all bathrooms which was nice. A friend of mine is going to look at them today, and said the agent she's going with thinks he can get her the A2 for 120k. Bare in mind its a new area so all the landscaping isn't done yet, but you get real value for money there, and with your budget you'd definitely be able to get what you want. If you don't mind not having a pool, consider the Cordobas in the villa project, they're built by dubai properties and they're really lovely, I personally prefer them to the Mazaya villas. If you want the contact details for the agents let me know and I'll post them up here.

We live in a 4/5 bed plus maids detached villa with a private pool at 'The Villa' (at junction of 66 and Emirates Road, behind Falcon City) and are not on any flight path as such (other than a handful of military planes accessing the 'secret' airbase out the back). We paid 120k in February, and paid about 8k to get the garden landscaped. Would totally recommend this area as a possible location for you. Try Helena at Landmark Estate Agents.

Hello ladies im am coming over to look for a house next week and just wondered if anyone can advise me which area of Mirdiff is free from airport noise? i am just worried that i am going to go on a wild goose chase looking for somewhere! i am reluctantly moving from a beautiful 5 bed farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales to Dubai. The move gives me the opportunity to be with the DH and see a lot more of him than I do now BUT never having done this house hunting abroad before IM SCARED lol! I really would appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me? I am looking Mirdiff way because i would like a detached villa with a private pool, figured if i have to move then i want something nice :) Thanks <3
