I always use Marhaba for my mom and aunts. None of them can walk long distances and are nervous travellers. I book the Diamond service (about AED 300) and they are met as they get off the plane and taken by golf cart through all the arrival formalities and delivered to us at the Marhaba lounge or arrivals. Never had a problem and I think the old dears get a real kick from being greeted like VIP's.

We always use Ahlan and our guests are always met at the plane door, taken to a lounge while their visas are processed (where coffee/dates are served) and then their luggage is collected for them. You have the option of porter assistance or carrying bags yourself (i think its 50aed difference in price). Much MUCH better than Marharba who my DH booked to collect me and the limpet in Jan, and just trailed us all round the airport into passport offices/visa offices, cranky baby, no pram, all our bags in tow and most importantly no cuppa!

Had my mum and MIL fly over with Emirates, informed them at the time of booking that they would need assistance. This happened at LHR and DBX, wheelchair from/to plane, I don't think Marahaba greet directly off of plane you have to walk a way and they wait at a certain point and then take you from there. Emirates are very good in my experience with people who require assistance, and a porter is included in the cost of Marahaba.

My father has a porter meet him from the plane, take him to the car all provided by the airline. Just ask the airline for assistance at check-in...easy and no extortionate fees either, only a tip for the porter

I used Marhaba for someone who had never flown before. They were not there to meet her as she got off the plane, I was extremely annoyed as this is an expensive service. It has happened twice now that they have not been present, make sure that you confirm and reconfirm the service and get the name of whoever will be on duty that day, then it works! That happened to us once too. Marhaba did not greet us. Fortunately we knew our way around the Dubai airport but it makes you wonder!

The marhaba service will greet her of the plane and accompany her all the way to the car. If they can't lift her luggage themselves, they will get someone who can. They are excellent. If she is up to getting as far as the luggage carousel herself, she could just use a porter, who will take her to the courtesy car too.

I was hoping I'd misread it...or it was a typo on their webpage... well I cannot imagine any other airport offering such a good service. we have tried in UK, and they have nothing like this.

You can pay for the Majlis service. They will greet her off the plane and take her in a private car to a special terminal. She can sit in there and rest with refreshments while they stamp her passport and collect her baggage for her. You can pick her up from there, so no need to go to the arrivals area at all.

Hi all... Never bothered with the Marhaba Service before and I usually use the porters at the luggage carousels if I am travelling alone with the kids... BUT... My mother comes this week and I'm not sure which way to go.. She has been to Dubai a dozen or so times, so navigating the airport isn't an issue. The issue is that she has had major surgery less than 6 months ago, she is 70 and I don't want her to strain at all. What exactly does the Marhaba service do? I looked at the website, but it doesn't explain what you get assistance with? Does it include a porter? and will they take her all the way through landside to where the EK courtesy cars are? Thanks for Help in advance!
