I saw a beautiful one in a presentation box in the window of Profile Trading. The shop is in the small mall next to Magrudys on the beach road, not sure if it is called Jumeirah Mall but is the one with the Body Shop in it. Profile Trading is the shop downstairs that has Indonesian style furniture, pictures etc. Of course not sure if it is genuine but it certainly looked like a nice gift.

HI, I started to reply yesterday but I sounded like a big party pooper. I was going to say - its highly highly unlikely you'll find a genuine Omani silver rattle even here in Oman. There are plenty of rattles around but they come from far off lands and they are made for the tourist market.

I would agree it is probably nearly impossible to get Omani silver rattles but I've seen (again probably)Indian silver rattles at the Central (Blue) Souq in Sharjah at a shop called Latas (there are 2 shops both upstairs) Saw them last month edited by marycatherine on 22/01/2011

Yes in my living room....! Sorry but I have never seen a good selection of Omani silver here, maybe DesertRose could help you, I know she lives in Oman and might have noticed them here when she's been in Dubai. The original Omani silver is almost impossible to find these days, we bought our collection when we lived there in the 1980's!
