You have already done update your CV and look on the net for vacancies.
So next I would:
Have a look at expectations and brush up your skills to line up with what the market wants.
Learn a new skill or improve an existing one (eg. Advanced Excel).
Make up a list of good agencies and research the better recruitment agents in them.
Make up a list of company's you would like to work for a get the correct contact details for the person in charge of HR recruitment in the area you want.
Write a mock letter/email to your number 1 company in relation to your ideal position and why you are the right person for it. Do so on the basis that it has not been advertised.
Start saving a buffer fund in case it becomes too much and you throw the towel in.
[i'>(off to a meeting but I will check back in when I am finished)[/i'>
So you need a new job.
Can you break it down into smaller steps so you feel like you are making progress?
I updated my cv and started looking for vacancies online on the usual websites and stuff. At this point I don't think there's much I can do because I work 8-6 and can only find time on the weekend to do anything. What do you mean by smaller steps exactly?
Do you have friends here Nat?
Yea I have loads but I feel better talking to strangers about such things than friends. Does that make sense
It makes perfect sense to me.
If you could (realistically) change one thing what would it be?
My job! I am looking for something on the side it's just that at the current market its sooo difficult to find something and in a way I feel grateful for being employed even though there's hardly any job satisfaction.
When we have "one of those days" we think that we are the only ones, but in reality we all have days like this! I have to say, I am grateful in a way for them, because they help me to seek answers and review my thoughts. After one of those days, I always feel better. It makes me see clearly what I want, and I ask myself why I am feeling like this. I usually write down what is upsetting me and find out what was the trigger.
Try, I know is not always easy, to understand what is bothering you and use the "bad" experience as a positive turn around. I am a true believer that something good comes out of it.
Relax and maybe put some music on and start writing....cup of tea and biscuits help too.
((hugs))
Thank you, that was really nice : )

thanks for the support..I'm sitting at the desk crying my eyes out and feeling pathetic. I've been having quite a few of these days lately, at first I just put it down to pms or something but I'm not sure now..sigh
