I have a ki-fit (UK version of the body bugg or body media) which is like a fitbit. Wear it on upper arm all day apart from swimming and showering and when out somewhere nice and it gives an accurate calorie burn figure. Easy to set up but needs a subscription. You can keep track of food intake but their data base isn't great so I still track with Livestrong and just mark in calories burned once a day. Using it to lose a bit of weight over next couple of months so I am ensuring calorie deficit is enough to lose each week. (Carorie deficit for 1lb weight is 3500 per week) Can use it to set targets for physical activity at different levels and steps taken etc. Also monitors sleep as opposed to time just lying down so you have evidence that DH has really kept you awake with his snoring! You can get an accurate calorie burn for any activity but if I want to specifically monitor heart beat during activity I use a polar monitor (S820) which like Jena7 said, links into a diary in my computer. I know I sound like a right geek, but I like clear data and am motivated by seeing stats and graphs. Sad I know! Too much time on my hands I'm afraid!

The best gadget I have used is the Polar rs200, its a watch and chest strap combo and when you have finished your workout it sends the info (calories burnt included) to an online calendar. www.polarpersonaltrainer.com. its quite motivational too because I can lookback to say 'June 2007' and see that I was working outr 5 days a week and burning 700-800 calories each time - they are sold in sports shops

c-a-l I don't use an online fitness tracker bit a colleague Sana does and I have seen an amazing change in her over the last 12 months. She recommends: http://www.sparkpeople.com/ She doesn't use the diet side of the site just the fitness part and says it has been a big help. :)

I would like to know if anyone uses an online fitness tracker to monitor workouts etc. I have googled it and there are lots of sites, I am looking for a recommendation for a good one that someone may have used. I am interested in tracking my attempts at running and subsequent workouts. Thanks.
