Other than Dubai Mall and MOE, are there any other Dubai attractions within walking distance of one of the metro stations? My husband is home this week so we want to go exploring but don't want to brave the Dubai traffic this evening. We're hoping to go to some of the Souks, Wafi Mall, Safa Park, things like that. TIA!

You could also get off at the Marina stop and visit the Marina or at the JLT stop and got to the beach at JBR (and The Walk), which is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Metro - take the side exit and cut through the little playgound, turn left until the end of the road, turn right and cross over the bridge and it's right in front of you.

If you get off at Al Jafilah (?sp) station - it is the one after the World Trade Centre stop- you are next to the gates for Zabeel park. Zabeel is a lovely park and it also has the Stargate attraction. Can't comment on stargate though I have seen some positive posts about it.

I use the metro overpass at Business Bay to get to Safa Park all the time. It's about 1km from there up to the park, which takes me less than 8 mins to walk. If you had a small child or the wrong shoes it would take longer!!! I have also walked to Bastakiya, getting off the metro at Khaled Bin Waled (Bur Juman) and walking along to Mankhool Rd then down to the creek. About 20mins walk.

I usually ride the metro to Business Bay and then grab a cab to Safa Park, but my son is terrified of taxis so I'm thinking somewhere we can walk directly there. Thank you!

if you head down to the burjuman one then you're not too far from bastakiya etc, but i'm really not sure if it's walkable (ie a million holes you could fall in and roadworks!) there's no metro anywhere near safa park, sadly.
