Hello ladies,

I am planning to start an online business dealing with plus size lingerie. I have realised it is a problem in the region with not much available for dd+ onwards. And whatever is available is very expensive. I am planning to get international brands and sell them online.

Do you guys think this is something that would work in the region?

Absolutely! The well known plus sized shop in Jumeirah is eye wateringly expensive I will only shop there if I really have to. I buy in bulk from Bravissimo in the UK any time I'm home, to avoid being ripped off here. Good luck!

Thank you ladies. Any specific brands that you could suggest? Also, any awesome ideas for marketing and reaching the target market?

Hi Desi girl, Many people need many things. Many people offer those things. What I see as key factor, does the buyer know the seller - store, website, app person etc. To make any venture cover its cost, it requires certain traction. That IS the key. Good luck.

Definitely a market. You only need to make sure yourarketing is comnecting you with them.

Agree with being available on line. There is a massive amount of retail here but not everyone has energy or time to pound round the Malls. I also think there are a lot of larger older ladies in this area, .Then of course you would have to deliver the items which might nor be so easy.

Yes! I'm a 36GG but the closest I can find are 36G from M&S. I've heard that there's a good plus size shop somewhere in Jumeirah but it's very expensive and as I live quite a distance away I'd prefer to order online (as long as items can be returned without any hassle). I never realised how spoilt for choice (and price) I was before moving here. My friend's just come back from the UK, she bought 2 large sized bras from George at Asda for £8.00 each!
