Hi Ladies,

I'm looking for a private venue for a birthday party, seriously don't want to go overboard on the budget. It's for a birthday party, (I thought I had found my perfect venue, the Dubai offshore sailing club - but i'm not a member there and don't know a member either) so now i'm back to the drawing board.

I don't want a sit down dinner or anything like that. Just a venue big enough for about 50 people...

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance :)

Hibiki Music Room at the Hyatt Regency can be hired out for a private function, and as it is a karakoe bar - you get that thrown in!!

The Dubai Creek Golf club has a private room upstairs for about 60 people - it has an outside terrace as well. they cater with set menus or buffets http://www.dubaigolf.com/dubai-creek-golf-yacht-club/event/venues.aspx

Its in July, so I'm not sure outside will be good? No i'm seeing finger foods and cocktails :) would also love live entertainment (but that is a different story) :) I'd try to get feelers out as soon as possible depending on when it falls in July as Ramadan is also in July, so many places do Iftar events - this could work to your advantage or against you as they make lots of money in Ramadan off these nights. Thanks Amy, it would be for the first friday night in July,6th. So about a week + before Ramadan begins. Hard Rock pvt room - might be my back up option. But I really would prefer a different venue. I like the idea of the Arabian ranches PVT upstairs room, will give them a call. In the meantime more ideas are welcome :) THANK U

For your needs I would suggest the upstairs private room of the Hard Rock Cafe at Festival City. It's inside, low budget and you get music thrown in. You can also close the doors for the speeches and the tv screens can run photo slide shows for you. The only catch is that you can't pre book on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights, so may not suit you if your birthday doesn't fall on a weeknight.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club used to hire out their upstairs room. I went to a function there once where there was a disco and a shwarma guy was making fresh shwarmas - nice and informal!

The Dubai Marina marriot can make the balcony privately available, had a our reception for 15 people at a pretty good price... are you thinking sit down dinner?
