Does anyone have suggestions for reasonably prices hotels in Rome in a good location for all the touristy things?

Any suggestions of what to do as I never ever been to Italy? Will be there for 3 days/2 nights. (Also no kids to drag along anywhere so this will not be an issue)

TIA

Hi there! I would suggest you this Catholic house close to Navona Square: centro accoglienza padre g.minozzi tel. +39 06 6832773 It is cheap and clean, very simple and in an amazing location. I was there 3 years ago and I was so happy of not spending too much money for a hotel, when in Rome you need money to buy food and clothes and you don't need to waist your time in a hotel room. Rome is wonderful

http://www.aventinohotels.com/inglese/ha/home.htm I'm fairly sure my mother stayed at the Hotel Aventino a couple of times, when she was visiting her sister who lived nearby. She loved having breakfast in the garden there. I think the cost was quite reasonable for Rome, but the hotel is not that central, I believe. All right if you've got your walking shoes on!

we stayed at camelia, close to the railway station (our requirement) .. very nice, decent prices .. not really close to anything though i suppose, but we took the two day bus pass, and all the buses had a stop a four/five minute walk away ..

We have stayed at Hotel Duca d'Alba which is close to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. It is in an artsy area with nice cafes and the metro is just a few steps away. www.hotelducadalba.com

Can't rave enough about www.lapiccolamaison.com . Right near Spagna metro and buses and 5 minutes walk from the Trevi fountain. See Tripadvisor for comments. It is more like a serviced apartment, but loads of cafes and a deli in the same street. They have 2 buildings and both are great. Very old outside but impeccable and new inside.
