Thanks all for the quick responses. I'll look into Amazon and make sure to pay attention to the voltage. I was really hoping someone would say that they knew a store here that sold the actual Instant Pot. HA!! Wishful thinking, eh? THANKS AGAIN!!

My Instant Pot from Amazon came with a French and English electric leads. It's not as heavy as a slow cooker because it doesn't have the ceramic inner pot.

I agree Amazon UK wont have a voltage issue but slow cookers are heavy and you might end up spending a lot on shipping. I've recently bought electronics from Jadopado and Souq.com (just make sure it says "Fulfilled by Souq.com" on the listing) and had a really good experience. Delivery in 2 or maximum 3 days - for Jadopado once it arrived the same day! Both sites are UAE based so no slow shipping. I got a Kenwood Slow Cooker from Souq.com for 220dhs and it worked perfectly.

Try checking on the UK amazon site for the instant pot. The voltage won't be a problem. But check the description carefully, sometimes on the US website they offer European voltage small appliances.

I bought the Instant pot from Amazon. I watched it for a while and bought it on special offer. It's brilliant.

Hi all! New to Dubai - well it's been 5 months, but still not quite settled. :) Busy mom of twins looking for an Instant Pot. I know I can get them on Amazon, but 1) I don't like to wait for things to be delivered and I'm assuming the wait will be even longer here AND 2) I'm not quite comfortable with how 3rd party sites connect automatically when I'm doing amazon searches AND 3) I'm nervous about the voltage that would come from one from Amazon. I noticed that someone else mentioned an Instant Pot when questioned about a slow cooker. Does anyone have any information about purchasing the actual INSTANT POT? Thanks in advance!

I am trying new things too and lets see if I can get more stuff done. The lady giving demo at Sharaf DG in Times Square was very helpful and told me I could always go back if I need her to show how to use it to make different cuisines! I'll try biryani next and see how it goes?

I always adjust temperature as some auto program functions have higher heat setting in my opinion. Let it slowly cook on stew option if cooking meat in gravy. I add enough water so it won't burn!!

I bought an electric Instant pot, it cooks 7 different ways , slow cooker , pressure cooker , steams, sauté , makes yoghurt , etc I actually pressure cooked the Christmas meat, including the Turkey ( although it was only a skinless crown )

I have used it to make soups, stews and rice. It's quicker and to change the meat color I use fry option and put one tsp oil. So far i had good result. I made Pakistani dish nihari in it and the process time was cut in half! Thank you, do you think it works the same as a slowcooker, I never had one before, so don't know what kind of result I would have in one of them? For me it feels a bit aggressive on the food when I have been cooking.

I got a multi cooker from Sharaf DG and very pleased! Check on www.myrecke.com It's great and can be used as slow cooker too with keep warm feature. It replaces quiet a few cookers! I got one too, as I was shopping for a slowcooker and saw this one. I mostly use it as a rice cooker though. I tried making bolognese in it, but found the mince got too minced up and grainy in it, I like to have a bit lumpy meat, I am not sure if I did something wrong, tried whole chicken as well and it tasted good, but no colour, so looked unappetising... Do you have something you like to cook in yours?
