There is a govt clinic in building 12, knowledge village - no not the Welcare before anyone says I'm confused ;-) Just dropped a client there this morning. Its only over the road from you so might well save you a journey.
OK ladies, I have finally done all of the paperwork to get my spouse visa and I have the pink slip. Where can I go to get my medical done, closest to the palm and what documents do I need to take other than the pink residence paper?
I double checked with my DH and unfortunately they only seem to do the renewals there as the clinic doesn't do x-rays, which is required for the first visa...sorry ladies.
I guess than you will have to go to one of the not so nice places like Satwa. Requirements: passport copy DH, salary certificate DH, 2 passport fotos you, cash. Process: Typing centre, medical and once the report comes back immigration. There is one at the Dnata building on SZR.
Good Luck...I am fortunate that my DH is all into this so only tag along generally.
Unfortunately I have no choice but to do it on my own, I will be returning to Dubai at the end of Feb and will be doing it then so will post all the info then for you Daisy. Hopefully this place on Al Wasl rd is a one stop shop where you can do the initial application, typing and medical.....anyone??

I am just about to start this process too. My DH's company use an external PRO company which will cost us extra money and as we are here to save money we are going to try and sort my visa out ourselves. An idea of cost would be a good help too. Once you have got your visa sorted melbell would you be so kind as to put a post on with a step by step guide of what to do and costs etc.
Thanks for asking the question melbell - any info from would be gratefully received!! :)
Thanks Cleopatra, did you do everything at this clinic including filling out the original application for the spouse visa? Did you do the whole process on your own or with the help of a PRO/Company. Its just I will be dragging my husband along and I dont want to go there and then they say no you have to go somewhere else first for typing/application etc. Thanks for your help....
Oops, sorry for the late response, but I'm only on EW when at work and when it's busy I don't get a chance anymore.
Anyways, the clinic is literally right behind the Union Coop and Choithrams, so just behind Al Wasl.
I went with my DH to the Government Clinic on Al Wasl Road. There you do your medical as well as the Visa as they have an immigration officer onsite. The whole process took less than 3 hours (the medical results take 2 hours so we left and came back after).
Because my DH is very organised and dealt with all the paperwork, so don't remember what's required.
Thank you, does anyone know how the whole long process takes and how long they will have my passport for. Also does my husband need to come with me or can I just take all his original documents and passport? And one last question....do I need to go for a medical before or I apply I fill out the application form?
I have been told that I can get a spouse visa without having to go through my husband's company. Apparently there is an office near the airport (opposite Dubai Airwing) where this can be done. Has anyone done this who can tell me what documents I need, costs associated with the spouse visa and how long I would need to hand my passport in for. Any information would be appreciated. TIA.
