The weird bit about todays article is the giant leap the school/lawyers have made to make this sound like an attempt at blackmail. I mean, what the???

All of the accused were 'interviewed' seperately and confessed, and their stories tallied. This mother is Indian and for her it is such a shameful thing, she would never have made this story up. Regarding the job, sadly she does not posess the analytical skills like most on here to realise that her texts were wrong and in poor taste. Her reasons were to be near to her daughter. Perhaps the school does not take on volunteers, and perhaps she does not care about the teaching side. She just wants her daughter back in school. Perhaps, no other Indian school would offer her a place due to the publicity.

Another perspective here! Sometimes you need to look at it keeping cultural backgrounds in mind. 1. Delay in reporting- In India, abuse of girls is still kept under wraps in many instances. It is still considered the family's "shame". Ridiculous but true! The delay could be as the parents were garnering the courage to report this while friends and family back home may have been advising against it. 2. Sending the girl back to the same school- I wouldn't do it, but could it be because they felt familiarity might help her cope with a hard time in her life? Being around friends might help her? If she were attached to that school, moving her out may actually feel like "punishment" to the child? Or could it be that since the school was defending the accused, she may be considered a "questionable troublemaker" and would have a tough time finding a place elsewhere ( am not sure how schools work here and what kind of network they have?) Mums msgs- Appalling language yes, but could it be that she just wanted normality for her child who has been through **** and back? Wanted her to go to school and get back in the groove, but also wanted to see if she could keep and eye out. I think given a chance most mums would be happy for a chance to be around the schools and check in on their kids..right? All I am saying is that things are never black and white. If I were to join a school in order to follow my daughter around who had been through this ordeal, I wouldn't be asking for a paid position. And I think its unfair if she were to take up a paid teaching assistant position where clearly her motivations were to look after her own daughter rather than work in a class and care for all children in the class. I think the whole thing is a bit strange, not that I believe or don't believe the parents, just can't be sure....

The whole Case is strange, the parents have not behaved in what I would call a rational manner from the start. I can't understand why in the middle of all this you would send a text about putting your child bckin school....and the father thinks it odd the ( he sensed a set up) that the principalemailed confirmation....I would say he was just covering his butt, and making his correspondence official. You have to wonder if there is more to this case with regards to the school, than we know. I just don't see how the men can be anything other than innocent given the GPS information. It is all strange ad sad.

There's something fishy about the whole thing right from the start. Feel something's wrong somewhere. Hope the Courts get to the bottom of this and get the real facts. Poor girl:( edited by momoftwo on 24/03/2011

Aside from the terrible language of the message, I really dont understand how this is blackmail (maybe I am not seeing something here). Kid has been through a terrible ordeal (not judging whether it is true or not), suspects on trial (not the school, or is the school on trial here), mother says girl is suffering from not going to school (parents might have been happy with the environment at school and the education, child has to go to school cant just stay at home all her life), mother afraid to leave her little girl alone (I did not want to let DD out of my sight when I read the story, many Indian women study to become teachers) and suggest that she work at school to be near her child also says she she will not worry if she cant be there. How is this blackmail again? for a job? Seriously ruin her child's life and the life of 3 men to get a low paying teacher's job? I am not trying to be combative but I fail to understand why this is blackmail.

From the start my thoughts on this were.......either a scam of some sort, or attention seeking by the mother. Poor guys, and poor kid. Mine too.. Also felt the same about the case that followed it a month later.

On another note, after reading the mothers text messages you'd hope she wasn't teaching your children english thats for sure ;) My thoughts too. If you were asking for a job the least you could do would be to use correct use of language!

How strange to text at all. Given the alleged events, wouldn't you be in there face to face to discuss how best to ease DD back into school environment and ensure future well being? I can't imagine handling this situation by text (actually, I can't imagine any situation where I'd be texting a school principal). Exactly. The only way I'd communicate with the school would be through a lawyer or the court. I fully supported the family until I read this article today. It looks so odd, why would they even want to keep the child in the same school, they should be enrolling her somewhere else :\:

The mother's text messages look like they were written by a 16 year old :/: I find the whole story odd. It seems very strange that she is trying to get a job during such an awful time? Also, if it was so important to be there-volunteer, don't wait for a job offer! Especially since the husband says "I make a handsome salary"...I also thought the texts of a teacher with an "MAB" as she says, are awful Gud? Her spelling and grammar is shocking. Sorry, but it just proves that 13 years of experience in Mumbai really doesn't count for much...Imagine her teaching your child? edited by NYCDoll on 24/03/2011

I would have problems understanding a two year old would be able to tell parents about something like this but maybe I am away from that age group too long to remember what they are capable of explaining. Which would be why I prefer to wait and see and not jump to conclusions and looks as if these parents need help if they do things like this if untrue. very very sad. Don't recall that one ! Some people need help. For me from day 1 this story seemed odd. As did the case that followed on it's heels of the 2 year and the watchman at an apartment building. It was another case of where things didn't seem to add up and things that were said were odd for any 2 year old to claim.

One needs to be very careful when one either reads or hears things as so so often they have been altered along the way, term known as "chinese whisper" turns into gossip . It was shocking to read the story when we saw it on the newspaper but why be judge and jury before the full facts come out and unfortunately most of the time we never find out the full facts. These men have had their lives ruined if they are not guilty as you will always get those people who will say there must have been something to it. People can be very nasty and without true reason to be. If these men are innocent , how will it be for them going forward ?

I've thought this whole story was a little fishy from day one. I do think its a bit far fetched for a family to come up with a fake abuse story in order to help her get a job, but I don't think all the bits and pieces add up. On another note, after reading the mothers text messages you'd hope she wasn't teaching your children english thats for sure ;)

I agree.. There was a story in gulf news last week with a medical report on this one. Wasn't in the favor of the parents.

I find the story dodgey, thats for sure. I certainly wouldnt be sending my child back to a school where she had been abused, more so if the school was defending them. The whole thing is just wrong on alot of levels. Why did they wait so long to report it? (and that has been discussed on here to absolute death) and then the allegations that the alleged offenders had drugged the child... I just hope the wee kiddie is ok, her mum and dad don't exactly fill me with confidence

I don't know.. I don't know why anyone would want their child to return to a school that had offending employee's. With that said, there have been several cases in recent months in Dubai that I find myself wondering how much truth their is to them.
