Timber venetian blinds...

Hi everyone!

What companies/stores in Dubai do timber venetian blinds for large windows/doors? Or even the fake 'timber look' venetian blinds? We are after a very dark choc brown colour, like the brown/black colour Ikea furniture is.

Thanks heaps!

we were recommended basel from this site and he did up and down stairs for us and has a wide choice of colours. you need to tell him what you want, big windows wont take one whole blind too heavy in wood. but ours look lovely and we are very pleased. we did bargain as we were having 10 made for us. so dont be afraid to say too expensive. 050 7876671 good luck.

Thanks Dentro & inga3! We'll check it out. Is the quality of their work good? Has anyone bought their blinds from Dragonmart that could give us a good recommendation? There are only 3 places in Dragonmart which do wooden Venetian blinds (believe me, I know, we walked the whole area many times searching). We used two of them, the second one was cheaper but workmanship not as good as these: Sheng Hong Furniture Bamboo Industry Co Ltd FB 12 Tel: 4273178 If you have windows with handles which open underneath the blinds, you need to take this into account for the measurements. They need to place the blinds higher and for them to have an outwards angle, or something.. Best to get them to come and measure for you first, which we didn't do and is why we had a bit of trouble with this, but the blinds are quite nice. We paid AED 3500 for 3 "French windows" and 3 wide but not high windows. They have different colours, suggest you go and look first, you may not like them. Good luck.

Thanks ;) We'll definitely try Sedar as they did our curtains and they were fab, but they were not cheap and the curtains ended up costing more than our furniture. If their blinds end up being just as expensive (we have to do the whole downstairs of a villa) then DH will turn into the Fun Police and not go for it.
