Hi ladies

Can anyone give me some idea on shops and places where I can buy good furniture as I am moving to Dubai next month. Have seen lot many shops on the karama side in a row but not sure how reliable they r.

Thanks

We recently got some pieces from Art & Craft furniture, Umm Suqeim. Good designs for the shabby chic look.

Hi, I would like to suggest a company called Royal Rest and It's one of the leading furniture stores in Dubai. Their furniture lasts long because of its quality and its affordable too. I'm using their wardrobe for more than 2 years. Still, looks perfect and I didn't face any complaints yet. They have multiple stores in the UAE. Visit: https://www.royalrest.ae/furnitures

Try theauctionhousedubai.com. Auctions every Saturday I believe, but call in advance to find out. Very nice sofa sets, some beds, lamps etc. Good prices, would say slightly higher than dubizzle but you have everything in one warehouse and just need to view the items, no need to drive to different people's homes wihtout knowing what to expect...

You may want to look at Doorstep Dubai http://doorstep.ae an online store that sells a wide range of reasonably priced furniture which is ideal for extra bedrooms when you really don't want to spend so much on furniture. They also provide free home delivery within Dubai so it's well worth a shot. edited by anj1206 on 14/10/2014

Meroe- the bed boutique sells gorgeous bedding but insanely pricey! Yes, I agree. Their customized section is very expensive. But, I bought the 400 thread count duvet cover from them for 600 or 700 dirhams. I like it more than what i bought from the white company last year.

Hi, I think you should start by looking at Uum Suqeim Road, Al Barsha 2. This is now developing into a furniture retail street. There are a lot of new shops that have opened there. Marina is also opening in a month their biggest store in the UAE there. You also have new shops like Carpet Center, MEROE - The Bed Boutique, Peppers, Memoire, Intercoil and Home Outfitters. There are great deals in these shops. They are priced much better than the malls. Welcome in town :)

Marina is good value in sale for the solid wood pieces... My dinning table and chairs from marina...though not solid wood are still going strong in their fourth year where as friends who bought from Home centre are already looking at changing chairs as the legs are shaking. I also had a bed from homecentre which despite of being in the guests room( hardly used) broke just after one year... My sofas also from centre in their 3rd year are already dipping and need a good repair. All in all won't recommend home centre. Marina is on sale ...have a look and u might find something really nice. Marlyn furniture in Karama...:it a big shop on the main road. Always has nice sofa sets.... Have never bought there but he quality looks good. edited by Lovebop26 on 23/07/2014

Thanks AHS...many fri ends of mine did tell me about Dragon Mart but was not sure of durability and reliability with my two naughty kids.....but with what u said...can go n check....any specific shop if u remember... as there r loads of them.in DM There are loads of shops, which means loads of variety to choose from. You must enter the Mall from entrance gate 'IB' which is towards the end of the mall. Golden Sun is one shop having loads of sofa sets. Otherwise in IB you'll find many shops having complete house furniture, indoor, outdoor, ranging from bedroom sets, kids room sets, dining etc etc etc. The price difference is huge in DM & rest of the high-end shops. I would rate the durability as good as oppose to price that im paying for the brand new furniture.

I would suggest Pan Emirates & Dragon Mart. We bought our furniture for the entire house almost 4 years back (beds, mattresses from PE & sofas plus other indoor / outdoor furniture from DM), and everything is still in good working condition.
