Can someone please explain why the Wiggles tickets are soooooo pricey here. A minimum ticket price of AED 200 for a toddler and this is for back of the bus seating. Good tickets are AED 350. In the UK the price of tickets is £16 which is less than AED100. Why why why do things have to be double the price here??? My little ones will be very disappointed but I just can't justify it - we will have to stick with the DVD's for now!

We recently took our 1yr old to the Wiggles in Australia and it only cost us $35 per adult ticket and nothing for bubs as she was under 2 so she didn't require her own seat. The show was amazing and the venue was well organized. I can understand the Wiggles needing to increase their ticket prices to an extent due to the long distance (regardless of whether it's a layover or not) and costs involved in bringing the entire stage show but it wouldn't surprise me if the actual venue was the one setting the sky high prices. When I called to enquire about the kids box and the minimum age required to purchase a general ticket, I was told that the venue charges on a per person basis, not by age groups. She even told me an infant requires a ticket! [b'>Now thats ridiculous[/b'>! why ? Paying a minimum of 200dhs for a 6wk old baby who doesn't require a seat and will most likely sleep the entire event seems a little much! Well it does to me anyway! edited by Giggles on 12/04/2011 edited by Giggles on 12/04/2011

My little ones will be very disappointed but I just can't justify it - we will have to stick with the DVD's for now! When we went to see them last year in Dubai, at least one, maybe two of the guys weren't there and the other guys looked sooo old. They didn't do any songs that I knew and I was pretty disappointed - so don't feel so bad about missing it. Anyways, maybe they needed to up their fee to save for their retirement? Oh my...NO!! I'm so sorry you were disappointed. I thought they were brilliant and even though there were many songs my children and I didn't know we had a ball. Only Murray was missing...I was slightly gutted 'cause he's one of my favourites. Funny, funny man!! But the fella they had standing in for him did a great job. Lol...they are old. :D Half of the jokes were about Geoff finally getting his pension card. For blokes who were 20's to 30's when they started and this year is their 20th anniversary, I think their energy levels and fitness are awesome! I'm with WaxMuch. High ticket prices will be due to the ridiculous costs enforced on them but the powers that be in the UAE. With a complete sell-out in no time at all last year, those who control these things will be seeing a way to further line their pockets. It will also not be the Wiggles insisting that infants pay. That will be the venue or Municipality. edited by Green-ish on 12/04/2011

but it wouldn't surprise me if the actual venue was the one setting the sky high prices. Exactly. The percentage being taken by the venue management on monies earned at the gate is sky high compared to elsewhere around the world. Some friends of mine -- in a band -- were looking to tour out here and when they did their sums it simply wasn't worth the effort because of the fees -- to the Municipality and the venue -- that they were being asked to cough up. Don't blame the Wiggles in this instance. Sure, they're making a shedload, but they'll probably be making more out of the merchandising than they are out of the ticket price. ;)

more likely "because they can"... I bet it'll be a sell-out, even at those prices.

It is ridiculous to charge this amount of money for a kids' show.

We saw them at the palladium here last year and they were great so was delighted to see they were returning until I found out the price. 200 dhs for the cheapest ticket is ridiculous. I'm sure we didn't pay anything more than 140 dhs last year. Can't justify 400 dhs for 90 mins kids entertainment no matter how good they are. If they are flying between Oz and UK (and elsewhere?) Dubai is a stopover for them so don't get why it would be soo expensive.

Probably because they have to pay more just to get them to come here! On average it costs double to get artists to come and perform in the UAE.
