could you please tell me how do you make your towels Super-absorbant???

DH finds his towels don't dry him well and I have found the same about the hand towels... How do you fix that? Anything that could be done to make them absorb well? Is it the water out here?

Wash once and add a cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle. Wash a second time and include half a cup of baking soda in the main wash. Nb. Don't use baking soda and vinegar in the same wash. HTH

I think I read somewhere where it has to do with the "thread" loop on the towels. Some are cut on the ends, and some are just looped and, therefore, closed. I believe it is the cut ended towels that absorb better and the loop ones cannot. Nothing worse than a towel that just redistributes the water.

i think it's the towel... there are absorbent towels out there...them thick plush ones... They are really thick and were absorbent and fine until some days ago.. Let me try skipping the softener part. Thanks Ladies... And DesertBoot.. Put it up on youtube.. You would definitely earn max hits in a minute..

What kind of material are the towels? I find my towels absorb differently depending on the material and (dare I say it) how expensive they are. My eygptian cotton towels are the best (and of course the most expensive). Can't fault them. Then I have cheaper towels that have been bought on the run when I've needed some fresh spares for visitors or whatever. They are terrible. They are soft, but seem to repel water rather than soak it up. Maybe, just in case they are new towels and there is some kind of coating on the material, give them a rinse in vinegar. That's the only thing I can come up with... sorry.
