This will be a bit of a random comment, but I found it helped with us.
Are you formula feeding? We were using comfort formula, and so DD was laready on size 2 teats from birth as the milk is thicker. But she was constantly asleep, and struggled through feeds, not being able to stay awake.
Eventually we realised that the teat was too small for the amount of milk she was drinking, and having to suck so hard to get any out was exhausting her.
We changed to size 3 teats, and after about four days she got used to them and stopped dribbling, and she's been very alert ever since.
It might be totally irrelevant if you breastfeed, but i hope it helps!
Can I just say I hate you all!!!
Just kidding lol :D.
Enjoy the sleep while you can butterfingers. As long as they're healthy and alert while awake sleep is the best thing you could wish for :)

At that age both my DDs were awake only 1.5hrs before going back to sleep. Up until 18m DD1 was still sleeping 15 hours a day and now at 2 years old 14 hours a day. DD2 (6monhs) is only awake 6 hours of every 24. Totally normal in my household.
well my 2 year old is only awake 8-10 hours, so I'd say its well within the realms of normal but be guided by your child, when awake is he alert, happy, feeding well or does he seem weak and listless?
My twin DS is sleeping a lot past 10days… Initially I thought it was a growth spur, but now I am getting worried coz its quite some time…
He barely stays up for about 6hours in a stretch of 24hour span…
He wakes every 3hours for a feed. From 12midnight till 12noon, he just wakes up for feed and sleeps off immediately after feed.
The 6 hour of staying awake is inclusive of his waking up for milk, crying, playing, bathing etc… And this 6 hour is obviously in installments throughout the day.
Is this normal ? All the babies around this age I know are know to be non-sleepers but mine just sleeps...
