It wasn't that she didn't want to commit to a date, it was that she didn't know - and said she didn't know - but clearly wasn't interested in helping me find out. The manager was happy to tell me mid-May. Had the staff member been a little less miserable and rude I might have gone ahead and bought a replacement brand there and then, but there was no way she was getting a sale with that attitude. Hopefully the staff in the new branch will be better.

I usually have good experiences with staff at JK, especially if you compare to any other store in town..... From what I understood is that they're indeed expecting a shipment of icandy but will only start selling it in their new branch at safapark. As with everything in Dubai they're obviously expecting some delays in opening, so she didn't want to commit to a date: understandable and not really a reason to be miserable and rude I guess!

Yep, that's what the manager in the Gold and Diamond Park store said yesterday. Just an aside - if you know the owner, can you pass on that one of the staff in that branch is miserable and rude?! I explained that I needed a replacement buggy ASAP and that if I couldn't get an iCandy in time I'd need to buy another brand, and she told me to leave my details so they could let me know when they arrived. I explained I knew that the stock had been shipped from the UK and that all I wanted to know was when it would be here, and again she just told me to leave my details (after sighing and rolling her eyes). I asked to be able to contact the management to see if they could help and she stomped off to the desk. Then she shouted across the store to tell me the lady at the desk was the manager. She then gave me the info straight away.

the owner of Justkidding told me they will have a limited range (to start with) of Icandy in their new store near Safapark as of midst of may.

Or you can try the Snooze Shade - they have them on www.kiddicare.com.

the short answer is "no" - iCandy stuff isn't stocked here. However, instead of a parasol, I used to use one of these [url=http://www.protectabub.co.uk/protect%20a%20bub%20compact%20sunshade.html'>protect-a-bub shades[/url'> and it was fantastic. I now use one of the all-encompassing ones (have changed buggy) because they're also great for if it's dusty or sand-stormy out. Sorry to intrupt, but his looks fab! Where are they sold? And do they fit on any pram/buggy? They are fab and can fit any buggy... and you can pull them about to get more or less shade too. Unfortunately, I got mine from the UK and have sold it on, but you could try Boots here (although they're lame in comparison to the UK). I'm still in the UK for another 3 weeks so I'm going to look into getting one of these. I got one from mothercare, a parasol, and it is the biggest pile of s**te I have ever come across. It slips down spins round and generally causes stress everytime I use it! ETA typos! edited by YorkshirePud on 19/04/2011

Righto - Just Kidding are going to be stocking iCandy. The first order left the UK around a week ago so should be in store soon. I'm going down there tomorrow so I'll see if they have sun parasols!

That sounds like a good option. My sister had a P&T and got it out the other day to eBay it, and it looked pretty sturdy and well-preserved! Apparently iCandy are 'in the process of' arranging a distributor here. They're not sure if they'll have stock quick enough for me, so they're going to get back to me this afternoon:\:.

:(. Do you think they'll find another agent? I guess it's better to buy a brand I can get fixed here, as I just found out with the iCandy! you don't need to fix P&Ts - they're pretty much indestructible! Besides, you can get all the spare parts over the internet, yourself, and change anything. We recently put a new handlebar on ours and a new foot well.

Just keep in mind that as of now, there is no official P&T agent in Dubai. DH went to Goodbaby in December and they were trying to sell off all their P&T E3 strollers really cheap because they were no longer official distributors. Dubizzle and ordering direct from P&T website are the only Dubai-based options now.

Yep, that's yet another option... I'm not doing too well with the decision-making at the moment! ETA: I haven't heard back from the lady at iCandy yet so I guess I won't till Monday now. Grrrrr! I just want a new flamin' buggy so I can actually go out for walks again! edited by DubaiCat on 16/04/2011

Now this is where I'm in a pickle - I'm only 8 weeks and don't want to tempt fate! :D But then again, I don't want to waste money now... but then again, will DS be too big for a buggy by the time #2 turns up?! I thought I could get another Apple now and think about the Pear kit in November (although everyone says it's too heavy), or get another Apple now and sell it in November if I think I need a double then. Or, get another Apple now and carry #2 in the Baby Bjorn if DS wants the buggy. Decisions! Oh, don't get a Pear, whatever you do! I'm not exactly a weak twig of a woman, but I honestly couldn't manoeuvre it around shops in the UK and had to use all my strength and weight to lever it up curbs... it was like a container ship. As for if you'll need a double or not, well, every child is different, but DD still occasionally decides to walk no further and climbs in the buggy and she's 3.5 now. You could sell a new Apple though at a good price and get a P&T then... but you do know you can just take the bottom seat off the P&T and have it as a single? Oh yeah...

I spoke to them yesterday and they are going to replace it :). If I can't get another iCandy, they'll pay for a different buggy up to the value of the iCandy. The Apple is GBP450 in the UK - what's the betting it's over three grand here?! oh gosh, yes! The P&T double is £335 in the UK and around 6k here. Nice little profit. Actually, thinking about it, get them to buy you a P&T double - or if they won't, ask for the cash instead and then buy yourself one (and have some cash to spare!). Forward thinking, that is!

I have a red one and no iCandy any more :(. BA smashed it up when we came home last week. I'm just trying to find out if iCandy will ship me a new Apple over here and if not I'll buy a different buggy - if I get a different buggy, you're welcome to the parasol (but you might need to find a new clip as DH managed to break ours). I'm just about to call iCandy now, so I'll post again when I've spoken to them. If BA smashed it, they should replace it... just talk to the UK lot instead of the chaps here. Emirates Trashed ours (on both legs! /golfclap) and replaced ours.

Oh that looks really good, thanks for that link. Can I only get it in the UK though or are there places out here that sell it? I could only see places that sold it in the UK x

We've recently moved here and bought our icandy pushchair with us but in the rush I forgot to buy a sun parosol for it! Does anywhere in Dubai stock icandy's and the accessories?
