I delivered my first child at city hospital with dr. Elsa in 2010 and the second one at American hospital with dr. Raj just a couple of weeks back. Both the experience were really good...but if I have to choose one then as a hospital I would opt for city..the facilities were first class n the nursing staff was v good...but that was in 2010 so I can't really comment on recent facilities. However I am v impressed with dr. Raj's pro natural approach.. I had an amazing birth experience just bcoz of her, n for that reason I would choose dr. raj at American hospital
Dr Elsa tried many times to get me to consider having DD naturally even though the first thing I said to her when I found out I was pregnant was 'I want a section'.
I heard otherwise to Globetrotter, I heard that Dr Elsa is into C-sections... just an FYI... I have been told Dr Ibrahim is the best... I had Dr Grace at Dubai Mall who delivered at City. I had a c-section but I had to deliver at 32 weeks and then went straight to ICU... so I don't think mine counts, but City was amazing and the NICU was great. I had loads of support and they really put my mind at ease!
I've posted another thread on this today :(. If you're considering City or Welcare, do check your insurance still covers these hospitals. DH's company have sent out a mail confirming the issues regarding their ongoing price increase issue. There is a grace period until January 31 for direct billing but beyond that, at the moment, direct billing stops and some insurers will even refuse pay and claim.
I just delivered at the City Hospital 15 days ago. I had a fantastic experience. The doctor, midwives and the nurses were excellent.
I had Dr. Elsa. She is pro natural birth and helped me through a lot of complications. thanks to her, I had my baby normally. However, it is very difficult to get an appointment with her...so please call as soon as possible. I have heard that Dr.Britt is also really good.
The first pregnancy is always special. Enjoy the experience.
Good luck!!!
I had Dr Braithwaite at the American, and cannot recommend her highly enough.
The midwives, anaesthetist and nurses at the American were all fantastic when I was there.
I hope that helps, if you want any more details, let me know.
Hi Lovely mums/ mums to be,
I am pregnant with my first and I am wondering which hospital is better either City or American? I have read earlier posts but they are old. Also which doctors do you recommend? I am keen to have a natural birth.
Appreciate your advise.
