Order a cocktail, but make sure to tell the bartender on the side that you want it to be a mocktail...

I know it'll be expensive (and hard to do!) but if you really want to keep your secret, order something like a vodka and tonic and ask for it served with the tonic still in the can. Then when nobody's looking, ditch the vodka and pour in the tonic :D.

Congratulations! How exciting. Pre Christmas detox before the gluttony of the festive season? When pregnant with my first I often used being hungover as an excuse. Got me out of drinking and explained my slightly green pallor. Mind you, it only worked as I was normally out a lot so it was believable! When I couldn't pull that off I would pretend to have a few drinks. Easy to do as I'm a vodka drinker so just got the soda minus the vodka and no-one was any the wiser.

I'm trying for a baby just now so trying to cut back but I just feel like all my friends will guess straight away if I do fall pregnant, especially over Christmas and New Year. I gave up booze when trying to lose weight for my wedding so you could say you're on a diet/detox and really trying to lose weight but if you're super skinny then maybe not so believable. Other than that maybe try loads of work commitments/over time so you can't afford to be hungover or play up that you've had a bad ear infection or something and say you're on antibiotics. All else fails just avoid them lol. Congratulations though, great news! X

You could say you are still TTC, and are just being cautious?! edited by Sugarbeach on 03/12/2012
