MrsDB, Hello! I understand the frustration. I've seen 5 doctors. All were nuts, I swear. Dr.Liliana works out of Health Bay in Jumeirah, but she delivers at al zahra. She is into natural birth, that's her thing so I guess that's what I;ll be doing (unless I need a csection of course). She is very on it. From the first meeting she addressed all my concerns and was super focused. Personable but trustworthy. So far, haha. I have another appointment on November 23 and I have 1000 questions for her so I can update you after that. She did mention that I get a full hospital tour with her to go through the place so I feel comfortable. I also know that al zahra has a pool for labour (though not delivery). I'm confirming on the 23rd. Health Bay is super clean and well organized. I've been more comfortable there then anywhere else I've been. Give it a shot! Cara Ps. BellaUK I am super excited to find out too!!! doc said a girl at 12 weeks but it was still just a guess, too early. I have to wait till the 23rd to find out now. Damn. So impatient.

So I had my 16 week scan. All good and very happy, however baby was super stubborn with legs crossed and cord between the legs refusing to budge so I could see whether it's a girl or a boy (I am DYING to start shopping especially with the M&P sale on!) Typical because I am the most impatient person ever and I just need to know. Oh well there's always next time!

hello everyone! I'm due the end of April like a lot of you on here. So nice to have fellow expats in Dubai suffering, I mean, enjoying pregnancy as I am. haha. What a ride the first trimester was, holy man. I suffered 2+ months of extreme headaches, like 24/7 for over 2 months. PLUS nausea. Finally went to the acupuncturist and she fixed me up in a session. No idea how it works or why, just happy headaches and nausea are gone. caligurl I am delivering at Al Zahra too with Dr. Liliana from Health Bay Clinic. Finalllllllllllly found a reliable doctor but it took months. I'm Canadian btw. Anyone else from my part of the world? Xx

Hi MrsDB, Thanks a lot for replying. we just saw our 3 month scan and sooooooo exciting . yes it is my first baby. yes I thought the same I doubt if eating ghee helps at all anyways I will eat badam cause I think that's a good for health. As for natural vs C I think I will let the doc decide whats best at that time. thanks a lot for replying.

Hi MrsDB, Thank you! congrats on yours. Dr ibrahim is FAB, very calm, gentle, and highly highly recommended in the field, Hes the doctor on call anyway, and was a chief on the UK Medical Board. His office is certificate after certificate lol. Hes got such a nice nature, and even my husband (arab!) loves him! Dr Elsa is probably the most requested with the longest waiting list, however she has the highest cesarean rate in the hospital which is great but for me im very pro natural and will do anything to keep it that way. I work 6 days a week, 11 hours a day so not much time in the week! But can plan ahead for a friday or something. Gina x

Hey excitednewmum, Congratulations on ur pregnancy...i remember how daunting it was for me too when I was pregnant with my first...i had only been here for ten days. I'm at City Hospital too, i see Dr Anne Phillips, i hear good things about her but i am in two minds, however i am going bk to the UK for the delivery so i might just stick with her. How is Dr Ibrahim and CitronKB how is Dr Elsa? Would love to meet u all...are u all working or stay at home mums? Days are getting cooler now so we could do safa park, even on weekends if u guys want to bring hubbies along too? It's so nice to tlk to mums that are going through the same experience.

Hi Ladies! im due 20th April (ish!). First time baby, was very nervous but rolling with it now and learning alot! had 10 week scan last week, same story as you CutePaisa, baby was kicking around like a trooper! CitronKB im too at City Hospital, but with Dr Ibrahim. I have the 12 week NT scan aswell at FMC on 7th Oct, apparently its just next door. Hopefully will know the ***! Any mums who want to meet up and share the experience please let me know. I live in Al Quoz, 23, and here on my own (apart from hubby) so gets a bit daunting at times! Gina x

Finally managed to get an appointment with Dr Tank and finally found an obgyn who is a good fit, phew! Now I just need to work out whether I am going to deliver at Corniche in AD or come to Dubai for delivery. I think I will visit some places and see. 10 weeks today, healthy heartbeat, perfect size and was doing lots of moving on the screen :) As for me, I am feeling absolutely dreadful, I am asleep most nights by 8pm and can't eat anything but potato waffles and spaghetti hoops (ha!) Roll on 12 weeks when I will hopefully feel better.

Hi ladies. I just had a 10 week scan and got to see our little one, was so exciting. We saw it move and kick like mad which almost made us cry, it was just amazing to see what our (women) bodies do and how a live and slow start ti grow inside of us. Now i just cant wait to feeling the baby kick its all just so exciting and overwhelming, its unbelievable. Got another scan in 3 weeks time and cant wait to see our baby again! MrsDB did u find out when ur actual EDD is? How can it be such a big gap? :s Good luck to all of you, hope the morning sickness is not too bad by now! Did u all get it bad?

Congrats Jgk, Is this ur first? I thought we were going into our third months too but our dr has said I'm unsure that if ur due on the 18th March or the 3rd April....so confused as to how there can be such a big gap...now i dnt knw when I'm due...I have another appointment on Tuesday so hopefully things will be more clearer then. Anyhow...are u giving urself the option of a c section or a natural delivery? I had a natural one with my first, i was frightened as it was my first time but it went smoothly. I did tear but i had no discomfort atall and was back to normal straight away. I can't really comment on c section except i know u need loads more rest to heal, i was actually contemplating between the two too....but both mums were so against it. Nannies: sorry i can't comment on this either as i do not have one. However i think most ppl use companies word of mouth...try the maids link in the homepage. I think u could bring ur own from India or wherever if u trust someone personally, but u will have to look into that. Indian food: i can defo help u with that, I'm Indian too and when I stayed with my MIL she only ever cooked Indian veg food. It is perfectly fine to eat and they say that ghee is meant to help make the deliver easier along with badam milk too. I ate it because i had no choice if I'm completely honest. I ended up being 15kg over my weight after birth, so i will defo avoid it now. I was also given halva, drowned in ghee and a Mithai, made of nuts (can't remember the name), again made with ghee after delivery, as they said it will help my uterus shrink and help me produce milk...I dnt believe it did any of that as my weight only reduced after i adapted a strict workout plan...I will defo be careful this time round. What food is being offered to u? Meet ups: we can all meet up if everyone agrees on a day and place, it would be great, i did so last yr with the group too...we had a lovely get together at safa park, everyone bought a snack but i think its a bit hot for an outdoor gathering...any suggestions?

Hello Ladies... We are all almost there with our 3 month hurdle time ...hope we all make it safe and sound. Now few questions 1: C section Vs Normal Delivery 2: Nannies ( my biggest concern) how and where do I find them ???? 3: I am planning to deliver in Amercian hoispital with Dr. Raj.. any indian preggers here as we can discuss the food we must eat as I will have both my moms (mil included) make me eat all the fatty food which I don't want but want to make sure its ok. Also, do we have meet ups ?

Congrats ladies, Why did u have an unpleasant time BellaUK? I will have my 12week scan this weekend, looking fwd to it although i can feel its going to be a tough pregnancy already. My 13 month old is such a handful, I'm trying to get her use to other children so 1. i can send her to a crèche a couple times a week and 2. She can get use to other children but she doesn't seem to be enjoying it atall...loves being at home...all i can do is keep trying but its hrd wrk as I'm always so tired sometimes i wish she could crawl back inside me and give her sibling company.

Congrats! We finally got to hear the heartbeat too which was great (though it was slightly overshadowed by a negative experience with the Dr.) I am 8 weeks tomorrow. I am hopefully going to deliver in Dubai (rather than AD where I am) as the hospitals seem miles better and I may need a c-section anyway because of problems I've had with my retina.

Congratulation ladies, BellaUK, it so frustrating when you dnt knw exactly how far you are at the beginning right...I'm so inpatient about it too...the first time I'll see something is at 12weeks, i can't wait...I've signed on to baby centre this time too...love the weekly updates of what's going on in me :) JFK, thats brilliant news...I'm due on the 3rd April and bday is on the 23rd...doubt my little bubs will sit tight until then...tbh by that time i would just want it out lol. I have never looked into Zen Yoga, sorry i can't help you there, sure the other ladies can though. Xx

Congrats to you all! Some of us have very close due dates. Mine is calculated as 24th April using the online calculators. But when I had my Drs apt last week she calculated it a little behind the online calculators to 5w 5D and at that point she said there was only a yolk sac so no hb yet, but everything looked as she expected at that stage so not to worry. So due to go back next week and see what progress has (hopefully) been made :)

We are growing slowly but surely :)....it's still early days so maybe not everyone is ready to share, which is understandable. I've been given the date 3rd April but hubs think the dr has got it slightly wrong (he thinks he know when it happened lol) just think it might b a little later....but at the same time, I'm sure the dr knows what she's talking about. I'm not too fussed, just glad i was positive. I'm heading to city this time as the insurance is covering this time round...although will be heading home for the birth :)
